Pete_2000 Posted April 26, 2005 CID Share Posted April 26, 2005 I have tried most of the tips on this site but still have a horrible speed; :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 1436 Kbps about 1.4 Mbps (tested with 1496 kB) Download Speed is:: 175 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (main) Test Time:: Mon Apr 25 21:19:12 EDT 2005 Bottom Line:: 26X faster than 56K 1MB download in 5.85 sec Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 53.07 % of your hosts average (verizon.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-10FJCZSX7 I must be doing something wrong. I was getting much faster speed than this at one time, but it changed after I re-booted to this and now it seems consistent. Can anyone help? I am running XP with SP2 updated. All spyware run and turned off for the test, and no viruses that I can detect with Norton AV. Thanks

dlewis23 Posted April 26, 2005 CID Share Posted April 26, 2005 your right on with your cap at 1.5mb if you want more speed upgrade your package to the next plan i shure they have like a 3mb plan that will double your download speed.
slowmofo Posted May 1, 2005 CID Share Posted May 1, 2005 Call up and ask about the 3mb dl and 768k ul package. Its still just 29.99 the only drawback is you have to be committed for a year. ( wasnt a drawback for me bcuz i plan on living here for the next 2 yrs)

Appreciate all your help though....... It's at 53 percent because a lot of people that have Verizon have higher speeds (especially with FIOS) which drives up the "hosts avarage speed". You do have very good speeds for the 1.5Mb plan though.
