just- Posted May 13, 2005 CID Share Posted May 13, 2005 hi there and welcome to the forums 1Mb is not as bad as it look if you just furf the net around but directway is not the most popular for very fast speeds actually clarify me on something direcway is for people who live out in the country and that is internet via a dish isnt it? Buzz Posted May 13, 2005 Author CID Share Posted May 13, 2005 Yup it's Direcway or dialup......and the phone lines out here are older than dirt......so dialup is download 1.6kbs to 2.2kbs and about the same for upload.......I have had higher test speeds, but I get tired of working in the middle of the night to have the bandwidth to do it. I was wondering is there any field in cable nut that keeps your speed constant, or something to help get better averages? Thanks Buzz

php Posted May 14, 2005 CID Share Posted May 14, 2005 no, there is nothing you can do to get DirecWay's speed consistant
Guest wmmc Posted May 14, 2005 CID Share Posted May 14, 2005 ..., any tweaks to make it consitant
Buzz Posted May 15, 2005 Author CID Share Posted May 15, 2005 thanks for all of your input......I will be thankfull I am not still stuck on dialup.....I am still playing a bit with my cable nut settings to see what I can see......I have not rebooted my computer this many times since I can't remember when! anyway there are a lot of empty fields so something might still be tweakable that will improve something....at this point I will take all I can get! Orignal_Cronicus Posted May 16, 2005 CID Share Posted May 16, 2005 see a satelite net signal and a satelite tv signal would work off the same propteries sumtime sin bad weather the pic gets bluury same with the net twekaing it might help increase a max setting but to make it up and stay up ud better lookk at tweaking the position ur satelite points and not the setings rofl
