Mactron Posted June 13, 2005 CID Share Posted June 13, 2005 Connection is:: 2821 Kbps about 2.8 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) That's 94% of advertised speed. That beats the 90% that is considered excellent by any standard I know of.. Why testmy.net says "only 86.03 % of your hosts average (verizon.net) " is beyond me. I pull 2800/700 day in day out on test sites that are close enough to me to be accurate.. Unless someone here knows something I don't, I'd say your doing great. php Posted June 18, 2005 CID Share Posted June 18, 2005 that host average includes faster connections from the same ISP, including FIOS... which 'raises the bar' so to speak
Mactron Posted June 18, 2005 CID Share Posted June 18, 2005 .. which 'raises the bar' so to speak Looks like it's time to differentiate between Verizon FIOS and Verizon Online DSL A little SQL data base work maybe !??
php Posted June 19, 2005 CID Share Posted June 19, 2005 mmm... I don't know if thats possible... but I haven't looked into it... seeing as how they have the same host name, and the database is organized by host names. I dunno...
jeet Posted June 20, 2005 CID Share Posted June 20, 2005 I thought verizon had 768kb upload speed?
VznPro Posted July 24, 2005 CID Share Posted July 24, 2005 I thought verizon had 768kb upload speed? Indeed they do have 768kb upload for DSL. However, FIOS even in its lowest form is at least 1 megabit upload which is why the tests here are somewhat misleading about percentages.
