MICROWAVE Posted September 7, 2004 CID Share Posted September 7, 2004 ImSumDumChk, First let me welcome you to the site, I hope you enjoy. I think you have conquered the hardest part and that is you said you are willing to learn:) many people throw up their hands and give up. There are many knowledgeable people on this site that will be willing to help you in any way that they can. The more information you give us about your equipment and what you want to do the easier it is to try and help:) The other thing I always do when I'm making changes is to have a good copy of my REG files, so visit as often as you like and have fun and tell your friends about the cool testing site you found......... ImSumDumChk Posted September 8, 2004 CID Share Posted September 8, 2004 Microwave, Thank you for the welcome, I am only sorry I haven't been able to do much but pop in for a quick read here and there over the last 2 days. As far as the willingness to learn goes, you know how us blondes are, easily swayed to try anything once...but since I got the brains too, I gaurentee only once if it really stinks. Here is my startup for tweaking: Adelphia cable, basic package 3000/256 IPv6 (normal connection) with ethernet and Terayon modem I changed my rwin to 67160 based on avg. ping 118, mss 1460 D/L Speeds change all day from 2200k to 2600k, up and down sometimes as low as 1800k U/L Speeds hang pretty constant at 240k I would like to become a more reliable D/L, and increase it a bit. My google maibow takes 2-3 minutes to load. I am working off the assumption that the speed flux is my fault, mostly because everything almost always is! Let me know where I can go from here? Thanx
