mudmanc4 Posted April 22, 2008 CID Share Posted April 22, 2008 Great, now got the " setup " tab , then to the " WAN configuration " tab , when your there at the top it will say " Type " you have DSL if I remember, so you'll need that set to " PPPoE "
itchiemitten Posted April 22, 2008 CID Share Posted April 22, 2008 Ok Should I hit save?
mudmanc4 Posted April 22, 2008 CID Share Posted April 22, 2008 Ok Should I hit save? Not yet, go ahead and set the username , and password, some of them allow just the password, and no need for the username. Do this, write them down before you save, you will be using them on the other router as well. then save.
itchiemitten Posted April 22, 2008 CID Share Posted April 22, 2008 ok that's done anything else on this router?
mudmanc4 Posted April 22, 2008 CID Share Posted April 22, 2008 ok that's done anything else on this router? Yes, you need to turn off the DHCP server. Go into the " LAN " tab , right under the " WAN " tab, don't bother w/ any of the rest of the settings, just tick the " enable DHCP Server " radio button so it does not have a dot in it. itchiemitten Posted April 22, 2008 CID Share Posted April 22, 2008 The only way I can get rid of the dot is to either click "Enable DHCP relay" or Click relay and server off
mudmanc4 Posted April 22, 2008 CID Share Posted April 22, 2008 ok , click the "server and relay off "button. we may need to set one router differently than the other.

itchiemitten Posted April 22, 2008 CID Share Posted April 22, 2008 Ok Lan configuration is now blank
mudmanc4 Posted April 22, 2008 CID Share Posted April 22, 2008 Ok Lan configuration is now blank It will be, until you have it connected to the network later. It will snatch all the info it needs from the DHCP server in the enabled router , at the beginning of the network. Now do the same thing with the other router. : )

mudmanc4 Posted April 22, 2008 CID Share Posted April 22, 2008 For now, make sure that where you , if you, disconnected the cat5 from the machine, that it is plugged back in, so the network should be complete other than the voip routers. Make sure you can get online. W/ the original computer you were posting from, if your not now .lol

mudmanc4 Posted April 22, 2008 CID Share Posted April 22, 2008 You have an open port ( connection ) on the first router, no matter the number, just note it, connect the first router to this port via cat5, make sure you put the cat5 into the " internet " port on the voip router. FYI Just hit my phone lines and it says vonage devise has incorrect network settings, please consult your devise user guide What do you mean " hit" ?
