CA3LE Posted October 30, 2004 CID Share Posted October 30, 2004 Something strange is indeed happening with the u/load test though.... Normaly it works fine for me, but for some reason I've been getting this.... ERROR :: 948 :: Uhhhhh, you got under 1 Kbps ~~ I don't calculate that low... try testing with a larger size. (sucks to be you) And well, being that I'm sitting on a DS3 I find that hard to believe.... I'll try again in a bit. Toast.net gives me this.... You uploaded 3,932,214 bytes in 4 seconds. Your upload speed is 7,864 Kbps. DSL Reports gives me this.... Your upload speed : 9360374 bps, or 9140 Kbps Just letting you know so you can check it out... dunno if something's wrong or not That is an error I was working on the other day... it is a VAR I have reversed, it only happens if you are EXTREAMLY fast, I should have it fixed by monday ~~ I was unaware of the problem until the other day when I tested on a 100 Mbps line -- man you must be friggen FAST, we will see on monday I guess

Guest PeePs Posted November 1, 2004 CID Share Posted November 1, 2004 Yeah, not only that but those dedicated servers really dont require that much computer power i dont think (maybe im wrong). The game's graphics are quite outdated but its still a sweeet friggin game. If you do make a CS server post the ip in the forums and ill play there soemtime . I'll likely have a few different games installed. That way I can remotely log in with PCAnywhere and run whatever server I feel like playing on.... Odysseus_____ Posted November 10, 2004 CID Share Posted November 10, 2004 where the hell do you work that you have access to this type of equpiment? Well... I work for a Scientific Instrument service/design company... We are located in the same complex as our service provider, which has a direct pipeline. They have the whole place pre wired... here's their site. They offer alot of different services... http://www.ntg.com ..." Connectivity The NTG data network has diverse fiber feeds allowing for bandwidth capacity on demand. Current bandwidth subscription includes multiple DS-3 connections to Internet backbones for connectivity, and multiple OC-3 and OC-48 connections to ILEC and CLEC networks...." We're pretty much sitting right on top of all that... We're on a Gigabit LAN, and all of the offices in the complex have a Cisco Catalyst 3500 XL 48 Port Switch that the control center configures as we need it... I'd like to be able to do it myself, but they won't allow that, and I'm not complaining to them... They don't really seem to care what ports you need open so long as you are authorized to call and request it (Which I made sure my boss told them I was).... The picture in my avatar on the left is a pic of the inside of the control room looking out at the server and storage rooms....
Cobra Posted November 11, 2004 CID Share Posted November 11, 2004 yellow... not a color i would expect to see in a control room. btw, odysseus, pimpin' sig man. i think could replicate all of that except the border (if i had the time ). is that a pattern overlay? and how u get the holes in the side of the border? (the ones that look liked something very small bit a bit of the border off)

(the ones that look liked something very small bit a bit of the border off)[/quote'] Thanks! Actually it was pretty easy. all you do is make a small jagged shape with your polygonal lasso tool, then place it in random spots over the border you made and hit the 'delete' key. maybe rotate it sometimes, so it doesn't look exactly the same on every "bite".... That's how I did it. The border itself wasn't hard.. once I made the shape of it, I selected it and used Filter>Render>Clouds then I did Filter>Render>Difference Clouds a few times till I got the texture I wanted... then use Filter>Noise>Add Noise and make sure it's monochromic...doesn't have to be a bunch of noise, just enough to add little white specs.... Then finally, you will use Filter>Blur>Motion Blur to give it the brushed steel look.... I used Lighting effects as well to make it shine a bit.... Also though, after I did all of that, I applied a style to it, and manipulated it untill I found what I liked... unfortunately I didn't save any of that I don't think.... I may have the PSD file laying around so I could make a style out of it though....
