duffman1234 Posted August 26, 2005 CID Share Posted August 26, 2005 Hey, i want my other computer on the router to have less limit because it doesnt need that much connection, for some reason i get the worse connection of the two. I want to get the better connection is there any way for me to get it?
TriRan Posted August 26, 2005 CID Share Posted August 26, 2005 you can limit the speed in Kbit's on the other pc by using a program called Netlimiter
raptors892004 Posted August 26, 2005 CID Share Posted August 26, 2005 but you have to buy netlimiter after free trial..
Swimmer Posted August 26, 2005 CID Share Posted August 26, 2005 if you have a linksys router.. QoS is built in and you dont need to run a program.

spacedinvader Posted August 26, 2005 CID Share Posted August 26, 2005 cant you just turn off packet scheduler on one PC and leave it on on the other
duffman1234 Posted August 27, 2005 Author CID Share Posted August 27, 2005 How, and which computer should have it on. The comp i am using i want to have the better performance, i want like 90% of the connection and the other comp 10%, cuz the other comp uses only email and browsing. spacedinvader Posted August 27, 2005 CID Share Posted August 27, 2005 Turn it off on the one you want to use and leave it on for the one you don't. I dint know how much of a difference it will make but its free. Go to network connections right click and go to properties. In the window scroll down and UN check qos and your done. thats right click on local area connection. Sorry not network connections

Well, if you download stuff on the pc that uses 90% (or is to use 90 percent), then some programs (mIRC for instance) allow internet bandwidth to be used by other pc's on the router (in the LAN) as well.. The download or upload speeds go down a bit for a while when the other pc uses the net but then it goes back to normal.. Of course for best results you can use net bandwidth limiting programs (e.g.: NetLimiter), but then you can use only 90% of your connection even if the other pc doesn't use any bandwidth at all..
