dn0 Posted September 10, 2005 CID Share Posted September 10, 2005 I feel bad now for assuming right off the bat that it was spam. I tried the test also, pretty much a 4.0 to all of them. Do you think it would ever give a low score? They have to be trying to sell something.

Welcome to the forum, and I apologize for calling you a spammer. Do you have Sprint's gsm wireless? (like a cell phone, or pcmcia card in a laptop) Or is it a Wi-Fi set-up? I have Sprint Vision wireless on a work notebook, and yes the latency is high. Not sure of the quality of voip service that could be achieved with it. Have you tried something free like Skype? Maybe give that a shot as a trial, or maybe some voip services will give you a trial period.
ratfink Posted September 10, 2005 Author CID Share Posted September 10, 2005 Sprint wireless broadband uses a tower on top of a mountain, and people have small antenna on their house. From the antenna, it runs down to a modem, then hooks up to your computer. It is a microwave single both ways. I don't hook to a phone line. For speed I get 3.50 mb to 4.50 mb down, and 180 kb upload, but it varies. The upload speed is supposed to be up to 250 kb, but I have never reached that speed.
