Basik Posted October 30, 2004 CID Share Posted October 30, 2004 Notice the file size I test with.. I did the 2992 kb and it auto send me to the 12000kb test.. My bursts are very high now.. Even though it eventually drops.. Only thing wrong with my connection is due to the hurricane.. Lots of the lines around here are fooked up.. So hopefully after they finish fixing everything. I'll get closer to the caps.. Good luck with the new Caps settings 5400/800 not 5000/768 Please post speed results are you tweaked it to those settings. I just wanna see if it helped you any.. MICROWAVE Posted October 31, 2004 CID Share Posted October 31, 2004 i wanna get into the 6mpbs range.... Me too I just dont wanna pay for it lol.....I have the same service as you and I pay for 3000/256.. Recently I got a email from COX that said I was now getting 4000/512 but my guess is if there was a problem, that since I pay for 3000/256 if I get close to that (within specs) there is no problem from their perspective which I would have to agree with......I have always gotten higher speeds than I pay for, which may mean not a lot of usage in my area!!! disturbed Posted November 1, 2004 Author CID Share Posted November 1, 2004 you have to use settings which you have such as if your service is 3000downl 512up use that setting , do not select 5000down 512 (which you want )

And one more question lol Do i have to reboot every time i change settings in Cablenuts? Hey Marcin i said this in the sticky in make it faster topic "Well if you cant reach 90% of your ISP advertised speed you might have a problem." Thats a good tumbrule, i would leave my settings as you got em, you are indeed very close to your cap. You need to reboot everytime you change settings in cablenut program to make em change, i guess windows loading all those settings at startup and dont ask for em before you reboot again. Be happy above 90% advertised VanBuren
