Gregorama Posted November 12, 2004 CID Share Posted November 12, 2004 Well, I just upgraded from 3000/256 to 4000/512, and the download hasen't increased one bit! My upload soared, getting speeds of 500-700K, but my download is the same as it was before I upgraded. I even set my TCP value for my new connection, which is 128480. Please help. Gregorama Posted November 12, 2004 Author CID Share Posted November 12, 2004 Yes, I've tried that before. I used it again, and there's no difference. Also, Adelphia is my ISP.
Marcin541 Posted November 12, 2004 CID Share Posted November 12, 2004 I would suggest waiting, isp's tend to be slow with that type of stuff.
Gregorama Posted November 12, 2004 Author CID Share Posted November 12, 2004 Shouldn't be. He reprovisioned my modem while I was on the phone. The increase should be immediate.
Marcin541 Posted November 12, 2004 CID Share Posted November 12, 2004 I would give them a day or two anyways.

I would agree, maybe call them up and let them know especially if you paid more for this.
Gregorama Posted November 12, 2004 Author CID Share Posted November 12, 2004 I called adelphia, and was told to give it a day or so for the servers to update. Also, they told me to go to testmy.net and test my speeds! I had one minute conversation with the guy about how great this site is.
Marcin541 Posted November 12, 2004 CID Share Posted November 12, 2004 I wish my isp was like that lol. Their speed test is 300kb off lol. And when i got my upgrade and wasnt getting full speeds, they told me that they were sure i am getting full speeds and made me feel stupid. But everything is fine now

Gregorama Posted November 12, 2004 Author CID Share Posted November 12, 2004 500-700 kbit, not kbyte...
xs1 Posted November 12, 2004 CID Share Posted November 12, 2004 here in america, like normal folk, we like to use 'kbyte'
NoShow Posted November 12, 2004 CID Share Posted November 12, 2004 You know I also put in 128480 in mine for my package and it didn't work for me until I put in 100740 and now I'm getting good download speeds. You might try that as well. Couldn't hurt, and if it doesn't you can always change it back. Hope this helps.. BTW: We have the same package so it might help ya.. Take Care! Gregorama Posted November 12, 2004 Author CID Share Posted November 12, 2004 I have my tcp recieve window set at default, and I'm downloading around 435 Kb/sec now. I guess the server did have to update. I'll try those settings you suggested. Thanks.
