Yea thats what im waiting for too, but I dont know how long it will take for it to come to my area, the technician said February the earliest, but who knows. The bottom line is that FIOS would blow out Time Warner's internet, unless they upgrade again lol

Time Warner 5Mbps

All markets upgraded in January

Time Warner Cable users in New York and California last week noticed they'd suddenly been upgraded to 5Mbps. This week finds Time Warner officially announcing the change, as well as stating the rest of the country should see the speeds (at no additional cost) starting in January. Users in markets who had 6Mbps premium service will be upgraded to 8Mbps. No word on upstream speed changes.

Cant find the most recent article with the 31's as dated.. but i did see it.

never mind ; heres the email

Email from Central Florida BrightHouse:

Better hold on. We made it even faster. Still the same great price.

Our high speed Internet services just keep getting faster (press release). Starting January 31st, 2005, you'll be able to fly through the Internet at speeds of up to 5 Mbps. We're enhancing the performance of our fiber optic network so that it's faster than ever

Hello guys,

Im new on this site, but its owns. Thx for it.

Im living in florida, orlando, and i have roadrunner (brigh house). I moved down from nyc, and i also had rr back there.

In nyc that was the best for me. Im playing games with my mates from europe, so the ping is important to me. In nyc i got 110-120ms ping for our server.

So, i moved down here to florida -what a mistaces....- and i have 170ms (once for a short period i had 150 somehow).

But its nothing, Im having packet lost problem and nobody knows what the problem is. They changed my cable from the pole to my modem, they changed the model also -now is toshiba pcx1100u, i had some old shit- but still having those packet lost. Like this:

hey varia and welcome to the forum :)

bad pings and packetloss over UDP that most games using is most likely out of your control, inside ISP network.

keep making tracerts and post your ISP, also you can test to reboot your modem for 30 seconds and by pass your router if you have one.

and see if the packeloss decrease.

VanBuren :)
