Hey Swimmer: first, thanx for that link, it got me up and going great with the Palm !!! yeah i found this one too in amongst tons of crap pc stuff people give me, i have a LOT of friends with pc's, and im the fixit guy, so they give me tons of sh!t that either doesn't work, has been upgraded, or they THINK it don't work. someone apparently left this with me, coz i never bought one. After getting it updated, and with some games on it, i've decided my 11 year old nephew would think it's leet, and he does, he loves it. SO swimmer: does it have a browser??? i know it obtains an ip n stuff when i connect it to my network... it's got an IR beam too, dunno, im assuming it can surf text. thanx and yeah folx HERE's MY FIND!!!!! pays off to collect others PC trash. oh, i used a scanner for this image, wish i could FIND a digi cam, that will prbly happen soon, i've found projectors before.

well here it is! it's palmdesktop 4.1, with Palm 0s v.3.3, playing checkers, loderunner, froggy, Donkey Kung Jr., HotySync 4.1 via a serial port on winXP sp2. It works great, backlight still works. Gave to my 11 year old nephew, he's stoked. -
only issue i've had with computers and time, is when the bios clock resets coz of bad bios battery, or bios battery gets disconnected/reconnected. Then The bios for some reason reverts back to 1987, and the bios info and the mobo are like, 2000 or something, then it has a time/date conflict, easy fix, go into bios, set time for pc, FIXED. what im not understanding, is why people sit and wait to download something to fix the problem, when u can take TWO seconds out of your time and just manually set the time/date. Maybe i should write a batch code to send out to fix that NOW, and charge hundreds for it just a few months before the change over.. it'll just reset the time on the clock when executed, instead of doing it manually. holy heck.

considering time is a measurement, not something tangible, who really cares. My BIGGEST question, is when did central servers control my VCR? mind u, im thinking of the contrapment that plays my "BetaMax" tapes, or my "VHS" tapes. [me=tennesseeme]thinks of the comcast box plugged into his tv, considers on demand...[/me] yeah, there is a central server controlling my VCR nevermind.

only thing i buy at Radio Shack now, is cat-5 cable and crimp ends, coz i can get it by the foot there, withouth having to travel to the next town 22 miles north of me, it's local. I have been known to eyeball some of the monster sized RC's they always have on display, but i've never bought one. I'm kinda old, and my FONDEST memory of RadioShack, was the day I spent my entire summers savings, from delivering news papers, a whopping $168 dollars, on my Atari 2600, i was upgrading from my pong paddles, which i still have, Pong, Tennis, and Tanks, these paddles still work. WOOOT i cannOT believe i spent that much on a 2600, YARS REVENGE!!!!!!!!!! hahaha

I found one in my attic, weird, never had one myself, maybe a buddy left it behind. It's got Palm System OS v.3.0 i have had a ridiculous time finding any updates, software, drivers, whatever is needed. I do know i DO not have the cd's that came with it, there is a "desktop" utility im sure, and i've seen updates to like, Palm Sys OS v.4.1 or something. I just wanna get games on it, it's stating it's NEVER been "Hot Sync'D" I have the base that comes with it, and it attatches via COM port. any help or direction as far as desktop interaction software and hot sync software, as well as mini apps, games, etc. wow that would be great, my 11 year old nephew is stoked to use it at skooL this year. peas and thanx.

im curious how 64MB onboard laptop card out preforms a 256MB GPU agp card... i smell something. -"it braught total ram up to 1.3 gigs plus 64 meg on the video card. So I rerun my tests and my graphics card goes to 80 bottom of the list. WHY?" coz it 64MB onboard video maybe? -"Its beating the hell outta some niced NVIDIA cards and the ATI X600 which had 256 mb dedicated memory. Very Happy" -

tennesseeme replied to aznvinnyboi's topic in XFINITY (Comcast Cable Communications)
sorry, my sister decided to read over some of the things said about comcast, she works for em, i told her to make her own profile, and besides, my fault for not locking my machine! damn i hate having the best one in the house, her and her kids use it all the time. im setting the bios password in just a brief moment, soon she'll be on her feet and in her own place. so really, hahah, it wasn't me that posted, i think my typing style can prove that! -
Knoxvillle TN, COmcast 6MB+
tennesseeme replied to tennesseeme's topic in XFINITY (Comcast Cable Communications)
comcast has the capability but no plans to roll it out. no plans whatsoever. not at this time and not that i am aware of in the near future. and if you crack into your modem and try to do it then it DOES GET DETECTED and your modem will shut down and they reserve the right to discontinue your service for that. -
SLOW a$$ INTERNET ! ! ! ! how to fix!??
tennesseeme replied to aznvinnyboi's topic in XFINITY (Comcast Cable Communications)
several things could be going on. there could be something so simple as a nick in the line. like if the cable at the pole is older general wear and tear can cause that. if its buried and anyone has ever dug anything where its buried in the yard it could have cut a small nick in it. these things happen and can cause slow speeds. also comcast is open all the time you have connection at all times so you have to have firewall and adware and spyware because you are on an open connection. if the modem from circuit city is from a comcast rep with the comcast promo then its the right modem. there is a version of the same modem you can buy but its not provisioned specifically for comcast. since its the circuit city promo then its the right one. the best thing to do really is call tech support and let them do a truck roll if they need to. often they find simple fixes for these things. sometimes splitters can cause problems with internet if the internet connection is split. can't split the internet connection without losing speed but for professional installs the outlet is not split and most people don't split the video to use for internet. -
SLOW a$$ INTERNET ! ! ! ! how to fix!??
tennesseeme replied to aznvinnyboi's topic in XFINITY (Comcast Cable Communications)
your # 1 problem, is the fact you "BOUGHT your own modem at Circuit City" what possessed u to do such a thing. Comcast sends out the Motorola SB5120, this is SPECIFICally for comcast internet... It is also one of the top 5 modems in the US. your outlets may have splitters? you running a buncha pirated cable to other rooms? your gonna have a shit signal/noise ratio. also, some houses are installed USING splitters, they r comcast splitters, not radio shack splitters, with pertinent filtering materials. not just a bridge. (I would call for a truck, and request a homerun. Some houses that were wired for cable back in the 70's, and haven't been upgraded, don't have the cable to support the high speeds of today. This is why rather then trouble shoot over the phone, they do "truck rolls" some property managers or owners will wire the cable themselves using cheap coaxial that won't or cannot handle the 3Gigs/s that comcasts can... On demand on the fritz? Thats a sign that your splitters are being over used, it's streaming video, like watchin porn on the net... u cant split a streamed signal down.. and if lower channels are fuzzy, and on demand quits working, out goes the cable modem lights. splitters arent bad, but they do attenuate signals for certain services. ohyeah, illegal users, that wire the whole trailor park off one pole terminal, will also cause your signal to be shit, it's like a huge drain on your areas node. -

tennesseeme replied to pitbull481's topic in XFINITY (Comcast Cable Communications)
HEY MAN ^^^ UP THERE!!! WTF!! It looks as though your modem never recieved the bootfile indicating your speed tier!!! your still using the bootfile indicating 4/378 or whatever... I'd call tech, as them to send a new bootfile to your modem, since you've upgraded to 6/768, and that' you're still getting the basic speeds... WOW i'd be irrate if that's been going on long. I worked many years in a call center as a product specialist for one of ComCasts local competitors (although adsl), from that i've learned if YOU aren't persistent, Comcast WON'T be either. MY ONLY problem with comcast is the lack of uniformity, and preciseness from their tech's... Instead of trouble shooting a network card, they send a truck.. Instead of directing you to appropriate USB drivers if needed for their modems, they send a truck. Instead of ASKING your name, telephone number, and address so they can identify you, YOU HAVE TO TELL THEM???!!!!??!!! wtf... Instead of KEEPING NOTES ON YOUR ACCOUNT, which the call center for the ISP I worked for woud FIRE YOU for touching an account, without leaving detailed notes on the call, you just ASSUME they know you've called before. WOW, cmon ComCast, either get a SVAR Or get your proverbial sh!t together and train your tech's. good luck bro', and i would dial 1-800-Comcast as soon as i READ this, and read it back to themHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH -

i just think that's asstastic, a game, that requires a particular port to be open if router in use, yet, the problem is SOFTWARE side via the game (aka: client side)... i woulda dropped that game like a bad crack habit too, and never returned.
