  1. well, at least it exposes long enough to avoid the partial screen effect. then again, camera phones are about as useless as tits on a bull. at least i haven;t seen one yet that has a usable resolution, quality.
  2. basically it doesn't matter if it atches on or not. since they will mirror the icann names there should be no impact at all on the usual format. their servers would basically create a shitload of new tlds that are not recognized by icann. for example, i want to register the domain name resopalrabotnick i would register it with them, they would then create the tld resopalrabotnick on their system. anyone that gets lookups from that system will be able to find it. it's not a good thing in the respect that it creates more anarchy on the web, but otherwise i don't see why it would hurt anything, as long as they keep existing tlds excluded from the list. this will be a way for countries that want their own tld to register it as a domain and then administer their own subdomains to that to give out domains. for example botswana wants the tld .bots, they register the domain bots with the service and then set up their own administration and name server for the subdomains they hand out. (ford.bots for the local ford dealers.) the only problem with that is that while that circumvents the sometimes sluggish approval process for official tlds it effectively eliminates any chance of them ever getting that tld officially assigned. and when the service goes bankrupt or disappears otherwise, all the new domains go with it.
  3. it's always a bad sign when a tech says: 'Hm, that's interesting.' windows should not detect any changes unless any were made. should not. try removing the question-marked device and reinstalling the video driver.
  4. i did mention it on the doubleposted thread...
  5. lol. good one. show him the sites that are easy to trace back!
  6. if i got a cordless mouse i think i would need to get one of those whistling keychaon locators and strap it to it. the good thing about corded mice is you can easily locate them on a cluttered desk.
  7. why exclude one of the most widespread crimes?
  8. did you drop your computer recently? but seriously. look up the post beep codes for your bios. try reseating all the expansion cards as well. and all plugs connections widgets and gadgets for that matter. no display kind of points to video card...
  9. well, in most cases where the male students bang the female teacher it's not exactly rape. look up all the cases in the media. nowhere does it say 'the extremely traumatized youth sought help with the authorities' or somesuch.
  10. i'm not saying she shouldn't. it's just good that the likelyhood of the male victims being traumatized is so much less.
  11. yeah. good idea. make it easier to follow up on all forms of internet crime. maybe that way they can catch some more spammers.
  12. it's against the rules, and they should be applied equally. it's just not as bad for the 'victim'.
  13. if it doesn't display anything else when booting it might be that post (Power On Self Test) wise everything looks fine but when it actually tries to use the ps2 interface the error manifests itself. or it could in fact be the ram. if the ps2 is dead it should still boot, albeit w/o the ps2. open box, reseat all ram sticks (remove, reinstall) and see what happens. and the new board you're getting should boot as long as it's compatible with everything you're gonna install on it, it might just be that windows wants tro restart a few times to recognize all the new onboard components, and you might need to swap out some of the drivers for them.
  14. while i do find the kid a bit young at 14, there is plenty of cases like this where the kid is 15 or 16 or even older. there is studies of those cases that show that a male is far less likely to be traumatized by something like than than a female. i mean, think back to your high school days. wouldn't laying that hot 25 yr. old substitute teacher be the ultimate locker room bragging right? which is also the reason most of these cases get caught. it's not that the guy goes and complains to anybody, but the boasts eventually trickle down the grapevine to somebody that says omg that is wrong let's prosecute.
  15. yeah, like i said, see if you still have warranty on the mobo. and the bios may support usb keyboards, but some require that support to be expressly activated. if it isn't, the keyboard will work once windows loads the usb drivers but not in the actual bios itself. (this is basically just due to the fact that at the usb's inception noone expected a keyboard there.)
  16. only if you do it on a live webcam. and no pansy lethal injection either. full bore blood and guts disembowelment with a kitchen or garage implement with at least a one hp motor.
  17. the only thing that should be damaged is the ps2 ports on your noard. since the ps2 isn't speced for hotplugging, the circuits are unprotected against the sparks/surges that can occur when you do, leaving the possibility of them frying. remember, if you have to hotplug in the future, use usb keyboards. the reason you can't get into bios i'd say is that the keyboard port is dead and the bios isn't set up for usb keyboard support, leaving that dead until an os loads. the not booting is probably due to the damaged keyboard controller. the hard drive problem could be due to it being in a write cycle when you shut it down, leaving some damaged sectors. that should be fixable by windows though.
  18. hm, one more off topic post huh? seeing as it turned into a beautiful flamewar at the ninth post, it wouldn't be much of a loss, would it?
  19. hm. there is no smiley for maniacal laughter. too bad.
  20. hm, sounds fried. you still got warranty on it?
  21. must be nice to have a short term memory, helps keep a clear conscience. fine, i'll edit my post too, i never said i'm proud of being a troll at times, but at least i don't hide the fact.
  22. nice ul. that's not rr's regular package or is it?
  23. btw, pete. before you go calling yourself the peoples champ and champion p2p and other illegal activities for 'the people' askl the people if they want that championed for them. it's people like you that made sony put rootkits on their cds...
  24. don't forget that any sat service has inherently long pings due to the fact that you're bouncing your packets off a geosynchronous bird.
