As long as when I go to the ATM I can get some money out I will be happy....hehe..... Really I read something about this in a trade mag recently and as usual the best is not always what will be used. Its been interesting over the years to watch with all technology that they fight for what the strongest player has invested money in...... remember beta-max VHS, the one that played the record, VHS-c, now DVD and on and on. I sure wish I was smart enough to say why and how this always happens......the only thing I can come up with is follow the money trail. Also when XYZ company spends millions or billions on R&D if they don't get paid we don't get new shit to play with. I only wish that I was able to LOSE several hundred million dollars in one year( I would have stashed a little) to me the bottom line is the bottom line. Even though I think we as consumers get screwed, in the end we do get the benefit of playing with this technology, and I guess if I was able to do it better I would instead of bitching about it(although thats fun to) Overall even though big business doesn't have our wellbeing in mind I think I'm still way ahead of the game, especially when I was in Slovakia a few months back it cost my friend over 2500 for a computer that was a piece of shit!!!! what else could it be with a name like SHARK....lol.... so after I think for awhile I'm able to come up with that I'm a lucky guy mostly by where I was raised in the world(U.S.) because if I lived where I was born I would have alot more to bitch about.....like being hungry and mundane subjects like that...... Sorry didn't mean to get on my soapbox!! This is one of the reasons I have enjoyed this site so much .....the exchange of ideas and what is out there on the horizon for us. And not just one viewpoint of what it means for us, and only because CA3LE GUY has made it possible and allowed it. I for one appreciate him letting me know whats going on in the TECH world :) Microwave

Well thats the only way to get svc for free,.....lol..... so anyone that says that wireless is worthless isn't thinking about people getting free svc. Its really amazing if you ride around in a car and search for signals they are everywhere, of course this is against the law so I would not encourage this, but from an educational point of view it is kinda cool Microwave

Welcome to the site , hope you enjoy the site and your new found speed. As Swimmer said your modem may need tweaking or have a problem,although it sometimes cost more I always get my equipment from the company I get my service from, the idea being if I'm told I have a problem its what they sold me and its on them to fix or replace it.As they say you get what you pay for....(sometimes...hehe) have fun and keep visiting:) Microwave

Aint life great:) now you can have the speeds you pay for and also be a happy camper, Iam glad they "hooked" you up because Iam always saying that I believe that they are capable of fixing any problem and most of the time this is true:) except for your upload......but dont give up it may still be possible to correct any problems if you have some. Your right it is the best site....I also have used other sites but this is the ONE......the person who is responsible for this cool site is Ca3le Guy , and I cant speak for him but he has always encouraged people to test often and he has enough bandwidth for us to test often as I do and many others do.There have been many ,many improvements since I first joined this site but it has always been the most accurate, and cool people to answer questions which makes for a nice place to visit often....So tell your friends and keep coming back:)And your speeds are killer Microwave

SGTGriff, Those ping times look pretty good. Usually ping time under 100ms is acceptable,but it does depend on the overall distance. Just keep testing at all different times and get a good idea on your avg. speed.Now you are 25 times faster than a dial up connection which is a lot better than you were posting before....your first score was only 6 times faster so thats a lot of improvement....good luck, and as always keep a good copy of your Reg so if its ever needed you can go back to a good copy:) Microwave

Recently my cable company COX~HSI increased my speed for free:) to me thats always a good thing! today I got an email from COX telling me about a free download for a Important Update: FREE Spam Blocker and anti spy-ware download,(Pest Patrol) so I downloaded and tested and was surprised to find that the anti-spyware pgm is in fact very good and again its free. I used the other pgms that I normally use first so I could make a comparison. I found that the COX pgm was more through and gave me more info on what it found:) As I have always said I don

I agree with you Swimmer , I believe from what I know and have read that if you maintain your "puter" and stay on top of whats going on ALL these so called fixes for security leaks are not necessary for most people. I rarely have downloaded any of their so called fixes because from the beginning I was able to notice some of the fixes caused different problems,but of course they come out with a fix for the fix that didn't fix anything.....lol I am not advising anyone not to download this stuff, I'm just saying what I do.....and of course its just my opinion .....and I could be wrong....hehe..... At the very least I would not be the first on my block to use this stuff, I would wait awhile and let the techies test ....... Microwave
