Your speed most likely improved when you removed Kazam because it is full of low life,scum sucking , bottom feeding, browser hijacking ,spyware........ not that I'm bitter or anything I just think they are a bunch of asswipes....but other then the above mentioned things I guess their allright....lol..... actually after I got all the music..(stole???)... kevintorrens, I agree with RTB.....you have a wonderful speed and you are getting what you pay for.....there is no perfect connection....so stop looking for it......everyones speed can change from day to day.....dont worry just be happy.....lol Microwave

I agree with swimmer....... dial up has no real good tweaker due to the fact that all C.O. lines are different.....depends on,,,are you coming out of an ESS office or an older step office ....or....etc. so it is really trial and error but the truth is you can tweak to get whats best for your line.........the best improvement anyone can make for speed on any C.O. line is to hook computer up to line as close to mpop as possible.......(where phone company brings line to home) it is better to get the line before it goes all through your house(more wire slower connection) other than that your kinda on your own .......I do know that it is possible to make a lot faster than it is now.....but C.O. lines are capped.....FCC ...bull Have Fun, Microwave

huh, My machine runs much slower with linux.......also I removed java vm a long time ago and went with sun but same thing it slowed me down so I went back to vm I found that the last upgrade of vm which is 3810 I think loaded on the first one which is vm 3805 makes it more secure and faster ....for me anyway,, I guess all things should be tried and go with the setup that works best with your connection and you computers software....one thing is certain as swimmer said those bottom feeding scumbag asswipes that hijack your puter really sux... some hijacker had me the first of the year and it was a b@$%h to get it all off.....Im not bitter of course...lol Microwave

Yeah changing MTU by that amount wouldnt make any difference.......It is size of each packet sent only,if transfer gets to slow then I would maybe look at this .....but 1500 is "normal size" for broadband,and thats where I have mine set:) Keep visiting and tell your friends not only is this site the best for testing your speed but.........lots of good info from many people......
