It really would not bother me as much, but with little competition, they just keep using us. Like guinea pigs. And we just keep upgrading and paying them. I just got mine paid off, and they are already trying to get me to upgrade. On the 4000's, one of the best systems out so far, they have all but killed them off. So my 6000 would be next. No real reason, but they will come up with one when they get good and ready. And it will sound realistic. Same way they did the 4000 customers. I just have not decided who is worse, WB or Hughes.

Mine was crap full of spyware. It would not sit still for 10 seconds. And the (so I was told) brother in law with computer knowledge, said it could not be fixed. He also offered me $45. I think I might have been scammed. What do you think. Water under the bridge now. My kids have one faster than that old thing anyway. I think it was a Pentium 2 * 20 gig * HD. No biggie now though. By the way, my only protection was Norton. Kinda like a rubber with a hole in it. Told you I was a ditz. Boy have I learned a lot on here. -

Well that ( book computers for dummies ) is here. I figured if I was going to have to help my own daughters. I was going to have to figure this danged thing out. Besides frying out one copmputer. I could have saved it if I had known what I know now. And so far I am a cuple of steps aheadof them by staying on here a bunch. I almost choked down a comp class, but since I stared here. There is no reason to anymore. All I wanted to know was right here. And once I started helpingothers with what I had learned, I started learning a lot faster. So yeah, it is a pretty cool site. -

You know more than I knew when I first got here. I was a real ditz. They practically had to spoon feed me. So watching others taught me a lot. And I have some fun sometimes. -

Well come back often. Not just when it is broken. We have some fun a lot of the time. This place is not snotty as I have heard other forums are. New years is coming, it might get sillier than it already is. -

That is good to hear. But like always, satelite still sucks. So post them. Lets see what you get. -
Probably not, but could it be spyware. Not sure what a bit box is.

That is one of the things I leave out of my reformat. I prefer e-mail. Try cleaning out temp files and restart the modem. Did you reboot after turningit off? Sometimes it takes me a while to figure it out on my own sometimes. Just have to keep pluggin. And 2 heads are better than one. Mine is usually about 50 kbps too. That is normal for me. Also try testing U/L with the 579 speed test file. Not the smart one. And for the D/L try the 2992 file test. They work much better. The smart does not work as well for me. -

Me either. I am still on IE6 And windows media player 10. I tried both the IE7 and media 11, and just did not like them. Is their anything running in the background? click on keys Ctrl+Alt+Delete. See what is running. Have you D/L'd anything new? -

What type of browser and firewall. I might be just poking, but when someone comes along here, we will have some of the questions out of the way. -
I was going to say where is the flavor, but there you go.

Yep, that is my number one fix it link. And I do it daily, and have a lot less problems. I just wish I had written it myself. 2 years? That is just yucky icing on the cake here I guess. That is starting to sound really bad for them. And they started out so well. Your not using Norton AV are you? -
So do you put anything else in with the beans and rice for flavor. Maybe some ham?

Other than that, I have no idea. Best of luck though. And check on that clear plastic cover in the morning. It might be that after all. Good luck. WB support should be doing their job. How long is the contract? -
HEY, that U/L is almost as fast as mine. I seldom get over 100kbps. And at times as low as 30kbps.

OK, the link was for spyware and virus cleaning. Do you defrag and disk clean regularly? Have you checked for errors? Mainly what was on it. And according to what was on their homepage, it is running normal.
