  1. If you are supposed to be getting 384 and your getting 24 Kbps, that is absolutely not good. Try this. http://www.testmy.net/t-4257
  2. All I can say momma is it all made sense though. Scary, huh?
  3. So I have to wonder, how did grandma get a trojan?
  4. :haha: I hear you and feel you there.
  5. Not sure what hours, but hughes gives out free time of an evening. Might check that out to save on FAP.
  6. I will as soon as I find it.
  7. Ok, not fair. Real tear jerker there. Great story, thanks momma for sharing.
  8. That does suck, and there are several threads on global warming in effect already started.
  9. I do understand, and always looking for something faster. My two years are up here too. Might be looking hard again soon though.
  10. Up to 2 megs, if one has the time to tweak it and search. I do ok usually 1000/400 of an evening when I am usually on. And like I said, for the same money. There is no real advertised speed to it yet. Just up to. To me it was worth it. And always looking for something faster.
  11. EVDO. Same price, better U/L, and no bouncing to the moon and back signal. Actually much faster usually. And no outages because its sat. And no FAP. Way better for surfing.
  12. Only one time when a hughes tech was playing with it. But I usually was at 60 if I remember right.
  13. If you figure it out, you could sell that one.
  14. Than that might be yours reconfiguring itself back to what hughes wants it to be. They are in control.
  15. Well offices where there is a network of folks on the same line, and huge file transfers. Colleges have huge pipe lines. At home its more of bragging rights. A decent 2000/1000 is more than most will ever use. I of course wsh I had that much. :::.. 16. No, cablenut and firefox actually both slowed mine down. I did best with TCP Optimizer and IE6 at the time. Like I said, I got 1030/80 with a 500/50. Except in the afternoons.
  17. There you go, and there are many who will say that using the TCP Optimizer is worthless. That as a self hosted system it can't help. But it worked for me too when I had hughes.
  18. I have that reverse osmosis also. The water by the time it gets to my house from the city many miles away, tastes like crap and gives a dry throat. That reverse osmosis does the trick, tastes great. As to membrane burst I'd just pop in another filter set. Just takes a few minutes with the attached wrench. By the way coknuck, is that the same roof that critters and fowl pee and poop on?
  19. I am assuming carbon is similar to charcoal filtering? Like in a fish tank? Yeah, its been around for years. Whether that was what he used or not. Its the inexpensive way to do it. Salesman like to me meant it was more of a commercial for profit, instead of just helping.
  20. aboard tvn. Enjoy your stay. edit for spelling
  21. Do you use an instant messenger? YIM, AIM, google talk, MSN messenger, etc... Anythin runign th background? (Push these keys ... Ctrl+Alt+Delete and see what all running in the background?
  22. Yeah, mine never did well in a storm. Why I was so glad to see EVDO enter my area. No trees in the line of sight?
  23. Have you tried bypassing the router? Take it out of the equation? Maybe thats the problem.
