I see by the guitarjim site , that he got the new KA band equipment on the September 24th. One lowish speed of 800Kbps at 8:46pm and the rest in the 1500Kbps range.
And uploads fairly steady in the 230Kbps range.
Free upgrade for him too.
Im not happy it slows down at all, but mine has consistanly slowed every evening tonight about 2.5hours of crappy speeds (below 200 very sluggish) now at 10:45pm back to normal? guitarjim hasnt posted his pseeds since 9/24? Im curious which style dish he got with his upgrade Prodelin or the Raven. I got the Prodelin model , the Raven style my brother got is much better quality and looks a bit better.

that is so F*****G funny! That's the exact same thing I did to mine to get it off the side of the house.
Damn installed had drilled about 10 screws into the brick. (I did take the TRIA off like that guy before I busted the hell out of it! LOL
the HUGHES dish was on the roof because I refused to pay $125 for a pole install.. That would have been an awesome video of me sailing the dish off the roof like a frisbee...... I just yelled "LOOK OUT BELOW"!
Thats the other bad part....dug my own hole 36" deep and filled everything up with crete......pole is true and rock solid foundation.

Keep us informed ! ! ! Be sure not to FAP yourself doing speed tests. I did that once!
Of course Tech Support was UNWILLING to "un-fap" me, even though they requested that..
Give ECC hell if things don't improve (of course, at this point, it would either be keep it or cancel it).
Perhaps Hughesnet dish needs the adjument tool as well?

That was my whole basis of complaining with Hughes.... PERFECT speeds day 1-32 24/7.......
After that, Almost near plan speeds until about 4pm, then about 300-400K. So, one is to only derive that there was NOTHING wrong with the equipment (if it achieved 1.5Mbps until 4pm).
and what I said earlier might possibly be true. New users are not throttled sometime after their trial period.
Upgrade customers are throttled during 4-12 from day 1. But ooohhhh, no one at Hughes will admit that, not even Tier-4 Engineering, and all ECC can say is "speeds aren't guaranteed"......
I am going to stay up tonight and keep testing, almost sure by 1201AM it will be 1600/250

Its just strange my speeds are rock solid 1600/250 all day long until evening hours then the crappy test results begin? Would think if it were an pointing issue,cable etc...speeds would not be good all day long? Yes my brother has the exact same system other than the plan (basic 1000/125) and it seldom is slower than 700/75? are signals are pretty much the same with in 3pts. I have emailed and called them last 2 days.......?

Spaceway3 system.......all crap after 6pm-midnight with web response as high as 57sec unreal! speeds are steady 1600/250 other than the evening hours? nothing on my end? forgot to mention the executive customer care at Hughes are well aware of this......whats being done, guess nothiing. All new equipment HN9000 and sat pro + account.

Not under FAP green light....record speed @ 27Kbps! The only thing steady is the upload....not usable in the evening at all, and my 30days are not up.....worse than the Ku band system

Was your brother a "NEW INSTALL (eg, never had hughesnet before)" or an "UPGRADE".....???
I would think an new install would experience better speeds than an "Upgrade"..........For the mere fact that they're trying to impress a new user with higher speeds, but dont really care about existing customers.
My opinion though
brand new install....also got the better ravens style dish

Some more fancy numbers of the Spaceway3.
The microcells help to spread out land areas of high use.
Most Spaceway maps show only the 112 uplink beams, rather than trying to show the 784 microcells used for downlinks. Microcells used in order to be able to push out more bandwidth to the needed areas in a spot beam.

Well it looks as though hughes cant get it right, after upgrading from the Ku system for big time slow downs in the peak hours.......guess what. Thats right the Ka system gives me 1600/225 all day long around 7pm takes a dump! My download speed during peak hours is at times below 200k....now the upload stays good at 200+ go figure. Back to square one on this issue as basically with below 200 download speed and web response time over 20 secs.....useless to me during evening hours and seems to me the Ku system was better at this point in the game.

Better you caught it now instead of 3 months later like a lot of people.
I got a credit card linked to the account.....at least a person could dispute a charge? Had a gut feeling that would happen.

By the way, Its an HN9000, not a DW9000 system (in your signature line).
I had the Pro + Plan from signup. 425MB a day was plenty allowance for me. I had 1.5Mbps From May 13, 2009 to Jun 15.... That's when the downhill batte began. Tech support always blamed the slow speeds from 4pm to 11:59pm on "peak time".....Average 300-500Kbps.
However, from day 1 to 32-33 I was at about 95% of my Plans speed 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK.
So, no one can't argue that they don't deploy some kind of throttling or traffic shaping software. (they could easily download it in your modem and you would not even know it).
Your right its HN9000 ....I know what your saying definitely had speed issues on the old system. Prior to this most recent issue about a year or so ago had the same deal with the slow downs during peak hours after getting switched to a different transponder the speed was fine until abut a month ago? My brothers system will see 30days this week using the Spaceway3, I'm very curious of the outcome, he is on the base package too.

Don't forget about the Hughesnet 2am to 7am eastern, FAP free time. Great for Windoze updates and software downloads.

The HN9000 on Spaceway 3 will be absolutely great for 31 days........... Please be sure to report your lousy speeds on day 33!!!!!!
Let the countdown begin.....Spaceway3 installed and thanks to the BBB all free, install went well. Only complaint is my old 7000S had a 375MB limit on the pro plan, the 9000 with the same plan is 300MB so will need the pro plus to get 425MB threshold ......speeds on the pro plan are as advertised currently 1200/200
Will my speeds change in 33days....will be interesting to see?

I'm curious what exactly you think the BBB is for.....? Seems they were founded in 1912 and still around in 2009? Myself each and everytime have used the BBB the problem found a solution.

This happended to my XPS1710....all three incidents Dell replaced the video card 3x and the motherboard once? mine worked fine then black screen all three times.
