I truely think that my test is displaying accurate results... you may be seeing a bit of difference because DSLReports has a more congested server than I do... and I think I take many more strides to make sure that my server stays that way... even when it does become overloaded I will just simply buy another server I see no reason why your speed would increase like that... other than the possible fact that your connection just got better, I have not updated anything on my end that would make your results display any faster or slower (though I have done many updates in the past few months, there was nothing that would change you specific results [mostly done back end stuff]) ~~~ I did however on 2.22.04 open up my new faster than ever server... with a bit of backend work that optimized the results a bit. Rethink your situation and let me know, please consider the possibility that you just have a bad ass satellite connection ~~~ of which might have just surfaced........ also, your provider might have got a cleaner line to my server... that would help you out quite a bit....... who knows.

I played FarCry the other day... which has some pretty insane graphics.... maxed out all the options and still didn't drop the frame rate, I have yet to find a game that chops with my 9800 PRO ~~~ buuuuuut if ya gotta have the best of the best of the best... and need a 12 billion point mad onion score to brag about, I'm sure that card will be great........ for now, and I would imagine for at least a couple more years... Well... with the amount of bandwidth I have I could host a bunch of people on each server and other users on that server would notbeeffected what so ever... plus there would be transfer restrictions and stuff like that (still will keep most users very happy with the level of service) Also I would plan on hosting much less users per server than most other shared hosts, thus keeping all users accounts running very fast and clean. Accounts will have full shell access, cpanel, webmail server, phpBB forums and like a billion other tools... all of which I currently have access to and I have already set this up for a few people. All of my servers would be at least as fast as the TestMy.net main server, all I know is that when I was looking for a shared host (before TestMy.net grew far too large to be hosted on a shared host because of bandwidth issues) I would have killed for a host that was on this scale. Sorry, I have to correct you Swimmer... heart was in the right place... but your facts were a little off. "Line Booster" or amplifier is (yes) to up your signal strength, the can also add connections that purposly drop signal strength, because too much can be worse that too little signal. A bunch of signal does not mean a bunch of speed ~~ cable modems have a signal operating range that they need to stay with in to function propperly. Also, an amplifier is not used when "too many people are on one node and surfing at the same time." The way that cable works on the signal strength end of it is that lines loose signal strength from splits, taps, cable length and PHYSICAL stuff... the whole system is plotted out a head of time with signal levels in mind and a series of amps to deal with the signal drops of taps and cable plant length... When too many users are congesting the system they start doing work on the node to handle additional subscribers... if that does not work they start work on the head end..... that is a whole new story

That is the same modem I have (I highly reccomend it) ~~~ but windows ME is lame! ~~~ also are you hooking up through ethernet or USB ~~ try to switch it to the USB if you are on ethernet and vice verse ~~ this will eliminate trobleshooting the ethernet port or the USB port.......... if you are on ethernet and find you get better speeds on USB ~~~ buy a new ethernet card, but use USB temp. - Damon
