those evil bastards... I have to deal with them here in AZ, they are actually USUALLY pretty good about hitting 'advertised' speeds ~~ but every now and then they will sell someone who is actually out of their loop and too far from the ped ~~ twisted pair does not like to play that game, it is a very touchy system..... that's why the cable system RULES! stupid QWORST

actually unless you have specifically stated in your contract there is no real advertising speed... usually there is only a REAL guarantee on speed if you have a high business class DSL or T1+ provider. If you are paying 600+ per month for you line you are being taken for a ride... boot the computer up and it will be the first thing that is said on your screen... AWARD bios maybe just configured for compaq? ? ? Check with compaq by the way ~~~ and next time don't buy a pre built hehe

What BIOS do you have ... because you have to disable in the bios... You may have to update the bios... that is never a fun tast, I always bite my nails hopeing that it boot afterword... hehe
