  1. I have here a ccs file you may want to try. Your MTU setting is shown as 1490. This ccs file tries to increase it to 1500. Please do your tests again, especially the one from TCP/IP Analyzer and post your results.
  2. Found this link that explains about Full Duplex and Half Duplex operations and why your download speed is under performing: http://www.tcpipguide.com/free/t_SimplexFullDuplexandHalfDuplexOperation.htm http://www.tcpipguide.com/free/t_SimplexFullDuplexandHalfDuplexOperation-2.htm When your modem/router is set to Full Duplex mode following your ISP's setting your test report will look like this: ------ Web100 Detailed Analysis ------ Cable modem/DSL/T1 link found. Link set to Full Duplex mode Information: throughput is limited by other network traffic. Good network cable(s) found Normal duplex operation found.
  3. Perhaps the forum in this link can help you on modem/router configurations: http://forums.speedguide.net/forumdisplay.php?f=42
  4. Hi Corobi, Just a word to let you avoid possible misunderstanding. Your subscribed speed from your ISP is 256 Kbps down and up. Your speed test results are 217 and 211 Kbps for down and up. That means you are already at 84% and 82% of your subscribed speed. Not 9.17% as mentioned in your subject title above. After tweaking, you may only be able to achieve up to 90-95% of 256 Kbps.
  5. Could you be having a similar problem as loverboy1701? http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=11293.0
  6. Broadband services in third countries often do not face high competition like in USA. While there is keen competition among ISPs in my country and local speed is quite consistent, download speed to international sites suffers slowdown during peak time. Ths is because there is only one international gateway provider and it is a government-owned enterprise. All ISPs here have no choice but to use this gateway and that is the cause of the slowdown. For further read on international broadband conditions, read this link: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,12374073~days=9999~start=40
  7. Try this Network Diagnostic Tool during times of high and low speed. http://nitro.ucsc.edu/ In the last section of the Detail Report, you can check if the network based control throughput matches your comp's throughput. If the network's throughput is lower than your comp, you cannot do anything about the speed because too many people are using the service at the same period. In other words, traffic jams. Here is an example of the report: "Your PC/Workstation has a 62.0 KByte buffer which limits the throughput to 2.00 Mbps. The network based flow control limits the throughput to 2.04 Mbps" I now can get speeds near to my advertised speed of 1 Mbps in my country, and perhaps 70-75% speed if I surf to USA. During peak times, the network based throughput may fall to as low as 0.19 Mbps and my speed will then be 200 Kbps only even though my comp remains at 2 Mbps setting.
  8. Speed fluctuations may be due to electrical noise. See this link: http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?t=193146
  9. This network connection test may be able to identify the source of your problem http://nitro.ucsc.edu/
  10. The problem lies here: TCP/Web100 Network Diagnostic Tool v5.3.3d click START to begin Checking for Middleboxes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Done running 10s outbound test (client to server) . . . . . 298.21kB/s running 10s inbound test (server to client) . . . . . . 1.73Mb/s Your PC is connected to a Cable/DSL modem Alarm: Duplex mismatch condition exists: Host set to Full and Switch set to Half duplex There is a mismatch in duplex setting between your modem and your ISP. That is why you get timed out in your 2nd hop. Unfortunately, I am not an expert with hardware configuations. Anyone can help here?

  14. Please read this thread, carry out the tests and post the results so that we can know your present comp settings and performance http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=2097.0
  15. To check what MTU value your comp has been set, just carry out the ping check click Start/Run type "command" and press enter. At C: prompt of DOS window, type ping IP_address -f -l 1464 (IP_address of your choice) and press enter if no fragmentation occur, try again but with 1465. If fragmentation occurs, then max value is 1464 and MTU is already correctly set to 1492 (1464+28) Your RWIN is set too low for bandwidth 3000 kbps Try this ccs file
  16. Carry out this test so that we can know what your present computer settings are. https://www.speedguide.net/analyzer.php
  17. You need to solve the high latency problem to get higher test speeds. The average latency range from Asia to USA is about 250-300 ms. Your tests showed an average of 1557 ms (133-2424ms). This is not normal.
  18. Try using this ccs file. Your latency test values from your ISP in Holland to USA are very high. This means you will have a large lag time to download websites from USA and probably with excessive packet losses too. You need to find out from your ISP why latency is so high. Check with your friends who have the same ISP if they face the same problem. If they do not, then you may have hardware or line quality problems.
  19. Here is my ccs file for bandwidth 1500kpbs. If your bandwidth is different, you may need to modify the RWIN and TCP values of this file.
  20. UCSC TEST: Information: The receive buffer should be 41.31 Kbytes to maximize throughput Your RWIN is too low - Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 13068 Try my Cablenut setting on this thread: http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=bc16d35c7501526590ad0ba48bed5f11&topic=11176.0 You will need to download the Cablenut program v 4.08 to run the ccs file.
  21. Hi, I have attached my ccs file for ADSL PPPoE 1024/512 kbps bandwidth. Those who wants to make adjustments to suit their MTU values, please note the following: 63888 = MSS 1452 (that is, MTU 1492 - 40) x 44 31944 = MSS x 22 Here are my test data: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 420 Kbps about 0.4 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 51 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Tue, 17 Jan 2006 14:00:37 GMT+0700 Bottom Line:: 8X faster than 56K 1MB download in 20.08 sec Diagnosis: Looks Great : 5.79 % faster than the average for host (co.th) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-824YSXGAM :::..
