  6. im using road runner, i have done a bunch of adware and virus scan but nothing seems to help. it definitly has to be packetloss because i have my 5 megs down speed and then it just spikes .. the download took 128 seconds to complete but like 110 of those seconds were me staring at a frozen loading bar.. i was actually about to format and i figured i would check out the thread.. amazing i got here without freezing and i cant run a pathping because im using win 98 SE.. so it says bad filename/invalid anything else i can do to give u a better understanding of my connection?

This is hte first time it started to do this again in quite a while but its very annoying. :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 282 Kbps about 0.3 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB) Download Speed is:: 34 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Test Time:: Sun Feb 13 07:33:29 CST 2005 Bottom Line:: 5X faster than 56K 1MB download in 30.12 sec Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/id-VOJYSMZRT normally i cap at like 4.9-5.2 .. this is just sad ill be in a counter strike game and it seems like my connection just turns off so i have to wait like 10 seconds for me being able to move. and when it does let me move HEADSHOT and its not just playing cs everything's slow. its like i jump from dial up to cable and back and then it shuts off .. and then back to dial up lol.. im so confused
  21. well i dont really know much about tweaking, and i do have several adminstrator logins ^^ there are still so many restrictions and we have something called altiris which enables the tech guys to watch ur screen and stuff, and ive been installing software since 9th grade ( now im a senior ) so my ID is always being monitored lol
  22. ok, thx for the info guys maybe ill start learning how to do some tweaks and ill get back in a few days with my new speed
  23. ya thats gonna be sweet, a friend told me about a service up in tampa that offers 15 megs down and like 1 meg up or maybe more for only 40$, hopefully itll reach central florida by the end of the year as ive seen from other posts you are a tweak master ,how high could i get my speeds up to also is tweaking illegal because my friend had his service terminated after he capped at like 60 megs
  24. ya the cap is 384 but it might be changed to 512 soon Question: do u have fiber optic lines running to ur house? not sure if thats a dumb question ne way our upgrade consisted of just the network being redone with fiber optic
