sry i really hate this comp lol. I havent had the time to devote to fixing it. I have system restore disabled, and i went to go into Passwords.. but my virus has infected it.. and it says windows cannot open this.. etc i have no way of obtaining the password cause the computer wasnt originally mine it was a friends who gave it to be back in NY, i now live in florida. Is it safe to delete the only partition and then create a new one? or is my problem deeper being that my hdd is so old .. lower than 8 gigs it cant be reformated by a boot disk?

i know i know SDRAM is 168 pin and ddr is 184 pin.. i resolved my question. Motherboards can support up to certain types of ram ie. pc100 and pc133 are 168pin, ddr ram is 184 pin. The bus speed on ur cpu regulates the frequancy of the data transfer on ur ram bus of 333mhz = pc2700 ram bus of 400mhz = pc3200 ram i got all the info i need thx everyone

for 230$ canadian thats a hell of a steal. and 1.5 gigs of pc133 is insane .. a 512 stick of pc133 cost almost 100$ dont let that deal get away from you its definitly worth it

i believe the answer was given to me a while back lol but thanks for the continued posting. My friend is going to buy some corsair pc3200 value ram even though itll step down to 333mhz if he buys a new cpu and mobo he'll have good ram to swap out. and i bet i have worse ram on this comp. 256 stick of 133mhz sdram 64 stick of 100mhz sdram and my old old comp has 47 ram .. SIMMS i think i win on the lowest form of ram lol maybe u should close this cause i got the answer im looking for, thanks for the replies

i just like to say all the admins here are amazing.. there has never been a problem that they havent helped me with and it was always correct and in a very quick amount of time.. and its not only the admins here its all the members. being here over a year i dont think ive ever noticed one fight on the forum other than this.. if you like dslreports so much have fun on there... i think i speak for all of TMN when i say good riddance

man thanks a whole lot guys, i knew it had to do with the cpu bus but i wasnt sure if it would lower the frequency to match the cpu bus with the ram. thanks again

i downloaded a 3Com package of drivers and it said it contains the one i have 3com intergrated fast ethernet... thx for the help guys

What do you have to look at when putting in new ram for ur computer? If i have a cpu that is a XP 2600+ the bus speed is 332.7 so would that mean i can only support up to pc2700(333mhz) ram? And would putting pc3200 ram into a computer that has a cpu bus speed of 333 would it underclock the speed to run at that frequency?

I just have a quick question about drivers. I have windows 98SE now and i want to upgrade to xp pro. My question is do i have to redownload any drivers for my NIC or anything to make my internet work. I only have 1 computer that has access to the internet and i wanted to know if i didnt have to save anything prior to upgrading the OS

some of the areas in NY have gotten the upgrade i believe. Have you used cablenut yet? You can also call roadrunner and ask them when your going to get the upgrade or if you have it already. i have a 5200 in this computer and even after a 20% overclock on the core and mem (stock 250,400 - 300,480) it barely improves performance. Your best bet would be to buy a new card like the others said. Are you on any type of a budget and if so how much. Then we can make suggestions on what card to buy.. also list the games you would like to play so we can get a better idea of what you will be using your new card with

man thats insane.. i think its done in paint and i bet theres a few tricks to make drawing easier. Like a secret underground paint society that nobody knows about and they have all these techniques and are trying to overtake photoshop lol

if you have a good enough microphone you can use sound recorder. Start>Programs>Accessories>Entertainment.. Then you can download this.. http://www.dbpoweramp.com/bin/dMC-r11.5.exe Its a good program that converts music files to any format and bitrate And finally this program.. http://www.simtel.net/product.download.mirrors.php?id=59197 This program will take your music file and you can tweak the way it sounds by changing the bass, volume and TONS of other options as for a good free vocal recording program im not too sure, but with the use of these program with sound recorder im sure you'll get good results

the way i used to get around school security was typing https://"URL" and it would load any page i wanted.. and i used proxify.. never needed a Remote connect and be careful cause alot of schools networks have tech people that watch your actions. After alot of people started using the admin login names that i gave out they started catching people more often.. so if u find the site u want to go to or go to a bunch of sites at once and then unplug from the network

i dont think DDoS'ing is wrong, its useful to get rid of hackers on ur cs server lol .... but to a hospital now thats just sick.. why do that theres nothing to possibly gain from it and it could have seriously hurt people, now that nubs gonna spend the rest of his teen life behind bars and lost all his money he made off hits bots

im on 7/512 from brighthouse in florida.. and i use win98_5000+ and i score 7.5mbits average if on the slim chance you have win98 try this out it works great for me
