  4. A little bit over 8000. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=7749
  5. He's correct on this, its old news. I used to see them going for high dollar on ebay just because they weren't released here. Here is a link that takes an in depth look into the PSX (dated 2003). http://liksang.com/news.php?artc=3244
  6. Been using the Linksys WRT54GX since it came out and has been the best router I've had yet. It has the farthest coverage and the best throughput of any of them (54g, 54gs, ? dlink, I've had). I can use my laptop at my neighboors house with signal showing very good, and still get my max connection on testmy.net tests. I just received a new linksys WRT54GX4 with the srx 400 and haven't seen the performance that I get with the original srx model. I don't have the new srx 400 laptop adapter to test the claimed 240mbs wireless speeds yet, so it isn't a fair test I guess. But with the adaptors I do have the speeds aren't as fast as with the original srx router (speeds are slower with the new one, and didn't expect that). I hope it may just be the need of a new fireware to work better with the older equipment. My 0.02. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833124170
  7. Not sure about that board, all I've ever used was Abit and DFI. One other thing about the AMD's is that for the most part I think they run a bit cooler than comparable Intel chips, which may or may not matter to you.
  8. I guess you can see what a x2 3800 does. I'll post mine at stock and at 2.6. You should be able to overclock the x2 and the opteron easily to 2.4 (the opteron should make 2.4 to 2.6 fairly easy). I post scores here in a minute.
  9. I have a P4 2.8c @ 3.6 and as for benchmarks and games it doesn't quite keep up. If you are just going to play games then AMD would be the pick hands down. If you do mostly video editing and the like I would say that the Intel has the advantage. If you want a comparison to an x2 3800 run some sisoft sanda benches and I'll underclock mine down to the 3800's speeds and bench the same ones and post if you'd like. My 175 @ 2.6 destroys my Intel in every bench and in games (Intel has a 6800ultra and AMD has SLI 7800gtx's so its not comparing apples to apples). For the money I would still say the Opteron 165 dual core, if you could ever find one.
  10. I'm on the far west side of Hutchinson. I'm sure that this is just temporary thing (in the mid 10's) and once they are up and running a few days, weeks, I'll be back down to just over 9. I seem to have always been at least .5 over the cap.
  11. Instead of the x2 I am in favor of going with the Opteron 165 (twice the L2 cache). If you choose the 165 (if you can find one) you will need a motherboard that will get over 300 fsb, in order to reach your max oc potential since the multiplier is locked at 9 down. Which again brings us to DFI, as they are known for great over clocks (I have two and they have been great). Just got my Opty 175 dual core (11x multiplier) and absolutely love the performace over my old 3700+. Even if you can only get 2.2 to 2.4ghz out of it you wont be disappointed.
  12. You are right about that, and I'm thankful. Parents live in K.C. and roadrunner sucks up there. I would rather have a 5/2 as I would like more up, the download increase is just a bonus to me.
  13. I live in a small town and the people that live around me don't even know what the internet is. I know a tech guy here and this node has the fewest people on it around here, so I think I'll be OK. Your right though the more people on your node the slower it will get. Not trying to start a fight here, it's just that I seem to be in the best case scenario as far as speed goes. After all I'm just glad they did the upgrade since there is no comp. around here. But if the entire network gets more people on it then yes I will slow down with the rest of them (fingers crossed). It has been a good ride so far.
  14. Well it may not have been the actual 5/768 plan but for the three years I've never been below 5 but a few occasions. Thats what I really meant. And my upload was never lower than 512. Still the point is it has never slowed and I still don't expect it to.
