Hey Rosko go here and after reading download hijack this, you may have something that is running that is not being picked up by your a/v or firewall, such as a dialer. But be sure you read and follow the instructions on this site. http://www.castlecops.com/t49271-How_to_post_in_the_Hijackthis_forum.html P.S. Hope this don't break the rule about posting other sites.

Thanks fikester now i don't feel so bad and tommy sometimes it is worse than dial-up,I was d/ling a file and the speed went down to the single digits. I was paying only 10 bucks a month for those speeds.

Somewhere in Arkansas close to Memphis

If thats not bad enough,i start d/ling a file 30mb or over and they throttle back the download speed

Go to your label folder, right click on a label, left click properties, you will see "opens with"click the change button and change it to what program you want to use to open your labels. Also,i would try to find out who or what changed the label association.
-
Instead of using fixboot,try fixmbr
-
One thing you can try,if you can get to windows normal mode if not try safe mode,is to increase the maximum for virtual memory. Right click My Computer>Properties>Advanced>Performance Option, click Change, set the size in MB.

The setting i was referring to is the CPU ratio jumpers,as close as i can come to the CPU on my mobo in question is 850MHz and the settings are 1=on,2=off,3=off,4=on,5=off,these settings set the clock speed for the processor, not the fsb,the fsb is set using JP4, on my board 100MHz=on 133=off
-
I don't understand Greek
-
If the bios does not support setting the CPU clock speed then you have to use the jumpers on the mobo.your manual should show the correct setting for your CPU..."Huhhh,what manual"
-
Ok,pin 1 is next to the jumper pins. You need to go to the bios and run auto-detect ,probably found under standard CMOS settings. See if this detects, your windows(master)drive, also are both drives Western Digitals?

Is it just me or is Sharky2006 instructions missing something?

What is the most popular testmy.net theme?
-
Sense you didn't say so,I'm going to assume that the hard drives are ide. First make sure you have the cable going to pin 1 on the hard drive to pin 1 on the ide connector, pin 1 is the one on the red stripe on the cable, this is for the master hard drive. Try this first and let me know if the bios recognizes the hard drive.
