Alright if you don't want to install Sp2 the try this,go to c:windowsinfpchealth.inf ,right click on the pchealth.inf file choose install. should fix the problem with out installing Sp2

Welcome to TMN unreal,the problem you describe usually happens when you have Auto detect settings enabled. Internet options>connections>LAN. For FireFox, options>advanced>network>settings

If using xp then either try a driver roll back or a system restore

OK,go here and get drivercleaner http://www.drivercleaner.net/professional.php It's always a good idea to remove old video drivers before installing new ones,even if they are for the same card. This app will do that for you while making a backup of your old drivers if something goes wrong. As always,read before using....hope this helps
