I agree. I have never gotten over 1Mbps downloads for the most part. Almost every speed test I run on here that is up there tops out right at 1Mbps. Uploads are not great either. I swapped early and didn't know it would be a loss of speed. I can't afford to do what some are to go back. Unless you really don't want the software on your main machine, I would not switch either.

Just a tidbit on upload speeds.... I have been averaging in the high 50Kbps range on uploads since I applied all the tweaks. I generally use the smaller files because I am impatient (hence my pain with Dway). According to the upload applet on the site, I started in the 40KB/Sec range and by the end, I averaged 11.3KB/sec for the whole upload. I timed it and did the rough math and agree with the value. Although 11KB/sec isn't great, it is 3 times faster than I could get with dial-up from my home. (Dial-up here usually runs between 3.2 and 3.8KB/Sec both ways. I can still whine though, can't I?

I get that problem once in a while in the evenings. I have never gotten it during the overnight or early morning. Early morning on weekends usually really flies (within DirecWay standards) I usually wait until early AM to do any heavy downloading. I have never tried to download any files over 1 GB though. I have completely given up on Dway support unless it is broken and I can't get on. Even then I do a reset and wait a while before I try!

Was that 1184 Kbps speed on a DW6000? I have never gotten about 1012 or so. Usually 995 with every tweak I can find on here! Which transponder on SatMex5?

It can't be much bigger than that, the whole test usually takes about 10 seconds for me. No wonder none of them believe the speeds suck. They always reference their test, and those results aren't half bad!

I make a concerted effort NOT to call Dway Support. I don't have time to be on the phone for two hours. I have an outstanding DHCP issue with my DW6000 that I simply gave up on and bought a router to do DHCP. Right now, except for in the evenings, I have no issues really with download speeds. Now it all makes sense!!!! It is simple Direcway logic: If 2500kpbs = Infinity, then 500kbps = Really Sweet. Maybe if we remind them that infinity isn't really 2500kbps, they will understand 500kbps = Crap and will fix it!!!
