yesterday was pearl harbor day december 7, 1941 (termed..."america's bloodiest day")...i can't find a thread about it...but i just wanted to say to any vets that r here, that were there and in the battle that followed...thanks for being there for us...gives me chills...2400 americans died that day (almost as many as on 9/11)...and america came into full force in wwII...they knocked us to our knees...but we stood again...and the rest is history my flag waves for u... those of u that were old enough to remember listening about it on the radio...do u remember how u felt?...were u scared?...proud to be an american?...shocked?...or couldn't fathom what it all meant?... talking to my donors yesterday...they said...on dec 7, 1941 that it was a very scarey moment when the news came over the radio...most didn't realize the full ramifications of what had happened...it was surreal... if u were there...please share what u remember...what were ur thoughts ...ur feelings at the time... it was a huge day in american/world history...what would have happened if the attack hadn't happened?...if we hadn't been attacked and forced to come out guns a blazin...would this world be a different place now??...

yep that's the way i do it too shugar...naked...barefooted...and take lots of pics and leave a smile...oh what were u talkin about?? mudmanc4...u have a great way of lookin at things...i like the part about cleaning up...when my kids were little...if they littered...they not only had to pick up what they tossed ...they had to pick up three more pieces...even if we were driving i'd pull over turn the car off and walk with them...once a cop stopped to see if we were broke down...and made like he was gonna give my son a ticket for littering...then "let him go...they learned pretty quick not to litter...

hello...tdawnaz here(aka: treehugger)...there r so many factors...weighing in on the global warming issue...one of the biggest is a buildup of carbon dioxide...why??...because we've destroyed our rain forrests...upset the balance...we're an ecosystem...and our plant system is the biggest comsumer of carbondioxide on our planet...we're literally sucking the innards out of our mother earth and stripping her bald at the same time...and it's done for our comfort...and guess what we're all gonna die a miserable death for it...well our children and grandchildren will green peace has been screaming it for 30 years...and what did people say...???..."shut up treehuggers...get outta the way...go to jail"...we were hugging those trees for a reason...we protested for a reason...not just because we had nothing better to do that day... yep there is little that we can do as individuals...but united we can all make the changes...find other energy resources...leave our rain forrests alone...elect "green" government officials...

i thought it would be fun and interesting ...and tasty too...to get everyone to post their fav holiday recipes...any holiday...you may even get some recipes from a country other than the one you're from ...so c'mon post 'em, i need some new recipes one of my fav is not really a recipe...just something u can whip up as an appetizer... now don't knock til u try it... *************************************************** 1 8 oz square of cream cheese one or two handfuls of green olives w/pimentos (to taste) 1 stalk of celery *************************************************** separate and clean celery and cut into 4" pieces let the cream soften to room temperature dice olives mix the olives and cream cheese together (add a few at a time...to get the taste you like) spread a mound of the olives/cream cheese mixture on each piece of celery arrange celery on a veggie or appetizer tray (can go on a veggie tray or cheese tray)

btw...if u can't see the thanksgiving theme...just clear ur cache and cookies...and restart ur browser i want to wish everyone a very happy thanksgiving...hope everyone has the chance to be close today to the people that matter most in their lives... i'm thankful for my family...my kids and grandkids...for my parents (who've passed away but leave behind an everlasting legacy)...my grandkids... for the good health that we all enjoy... i'm thankful for the country and the community that i live in...knowing that my soul could have been sent somewhere else... i'm thankful for the job i have and the opportunity to work with people that i enjoy that respect me in a profession that i enjoy working in... i'm thankful for my friends...that i never see enough of... i'm thankful for my children who aren't just my children but are also my best friends... i'm thankful for this community...and the friends i've made here... i'm thankful for the techies that have shared many tips that they don't even know have helped me... i'm thankful for my fellow mods and admins that i feel i've grown so close to that the friendship can't just be virtual... i'm thankful for those that oppose me...gives me food for thought... i'm thankful (in more ways than i can say) for the creator of this community...if it wan't for this site, what the hell would i do while i drink my coffee in the morning again...HAPPY THANKSGIVING...to you and yours...from me and mine
