  2. hey ddriesse i assume you have cablenut installed if you have win xp SP2 installed use this file, if not let me know and i make another file download this attached file (Cable & DSL 5000 384.zip ), unzip it to C:ProgramCablenut open cablenut adjuster, click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry, in top left corner click file, load custom settings file, browse to C:ProgramCablenut and dubble click on the file you unzipped. now click save to registry and reboot check speed again, use the 2992 KB testfile for download and 1496KB testfile upstream, also make a new tweaktest and post result yea wireless can need a finetuning of TcpWindowsize, but lets see what you get 1st good luck VanBuren
  3. hey again OSU_POKES do you use a router? if so, is it wireless and what brand/model is it? also try bypassing it and connect direct to your modem when using router set your NIC to 100 Mbps full duplex when using direct connection to modem, use 10 Mbps half duplex VanBuren

  13. update your NIC driver, ethernet is always faster unless there is a problem Version 3 has a larger TcpWindowSize, you can try using same file at your wired pc. VanBuren

  15. try all these steps, make sure to use ethernet, USB slow down alot 4. What speed do you have against www.testmy.net and http://nitro.ucsc.edu/ also make a tracert, go to start-run type command and hit enter, type tracert testmy.net and hit enter, right click copy all and paste it in your post. 5. Under your LAN connection - properties - general tab, uninstall all the protocols there that you do not need. 6. Open Internet Explorer and select tools - internet options - connections - LAN settings, make sure nothing there is checked. 7. Connect your modem via ethernet (NIC) and make sure you have the latest drivers for your NIC. Set your NIC duplex mode to 10mb half duplex for Cable, for DSL it depend on the ISP service unless you are using a router, if so then set it to 100mb full duplex for both Cable & DSL. If you are using a router make sure you have the latest firmware. 8. Power cycle your modem, unplug it for atleast 30 seconds. 9. Download and update then do a scan with SpyBot http://beam.to/spybotsd and Ad Aware http://www.lavasoft.com/support/download to remove any spyware 10. ZoneAlarm firewall has known problems with dropping speed, i suggest to uninstall it and compare speed 11. Install Outpost Firewall http://www.agnitum.com or Sygate Firewall http://www.sygate.com/ 12. Scan for viruses with your antivirus app, if you do not have one get one, AVG is great http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php 13. Make sure you have ALL of the latest Windows Updates 14.   24. then reload the file i posted before, seems like your maxed out then do you have a router? If so always connect with 100 Mbps full duplex at your NIC and if you dont have a router, connect direct to modem, use 10 Mbps half duplex VanBuren
