it might been something temporary problem on the route to that Notro test, download TP Test from www.tptest.se and do a speedtest against Port 80 and post result VanBuren
-
hey just thats kickass speed hehe, too bad my server cant handle more then that did you see any speedincreasing against CA3LE

looks alot better quote "Web100 reports the Round trip time = 101.47 msec; the Packet size = 1460 Bytes; and There were 4 packets retransmitted, 125 duplicate acks received, and 127 SACK blocks received" only 4 packets retransmitted now compared to 24 before what you can do is to finetune TcpWindowsize and GlobalMaxTcpWindowsize both those values should be the same, use this RWIN calculator http://www.dslnuts.com/bitsbytes.shtml MSS is 1460 Bandwidth in KB/s = 5000/8 = 625 KB/s latency = the worst possible ping to your gateway, when you uploading downloading at full speed, this value suppose to be between 200 and 300 for cable. I used 250 in my tweakfiles. try a latency of 220 that give you a TcpWindowSize and GlobalMaxTcpWindowsize of 137240 good luck VanBuren

hej igen kallaankan lets keep to English so other ppl can understand what we saying do you have SP2 installed? If not install it download the file i attach and unzip it to C:ProgramCablenut open cablenut adjuster and click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry in top left corner you see file, click load custom settings, browse to C:ProgramCablenut dubbleclick on the file you unzipped click save to registry and reboot, also reboot your modem and router for 30 seconds make a new tweaktest and post result URL and also make new speedtest good luck VanBuren

hey again 1st of all your maxed out, so i dont think you will go faster, but we can try to make it more stable load the tweakfile i attached on my previous post and post again, both Nitrotest and Testmy.net up and down VanBuren

hey Cholla The win2k and XP Tcp Settings is diffrent from windows 98 this is a quote from http://www.dslnuts.com/2kxp.shtml 1. DefaultReceiveWindow - The number of receive bytes that AFD buffers on a connection before imposing flow control. For some applications, a larger value here gives slightly better performance at the expense of increased resource utilization. Value Type: REG_DWORD Default: 4096/8192/8192 2. DefaultSendWindow - This is similar to DefaultReceiveWindow, but for the send side of connections. Value Type: REG_DWORD Default: 4096/8192/8192 17. GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize - The TcpWindowSize parameter can be used to set the receive window on a per-interface basis. This parameter can be used to set a global limit for the TCP window size on a system-wide basis. Value Type: REG_DWORD

hey monkhoous I helped you before CA3LE tweaked the server, so comparing diffrent tweakfiles before and after server tweak is like comparing a freefall between a Subaru Impreza and a Volvo 745, they probl hit the ground at the same time, even tho the Subaru suppose to be faster I scored around 3.3 Mbps down before CA3LE tweaked the server, after i score 9,2 Mbps MTU is not a speedtweak, atleast not in this amount of bandwidth By default Windows XP has Path MTU detection enabled and that work very well, until somone using Dr:Tcp or TCP optimizer and force a MTU of 1500....... That can mess up alot so ppl, do not change the MTU, leave it at Default, windows will find it for ya.... VanBuren

hey Velocity and welcome to the forum follow these steps https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=605.0 also try my latest file for 5000/768 i attached it below good luck VanBuren

hey richcornucopia and welcome to the forum do you have SP2 installed? If not install it follow these steps and post again https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=605.0 VanBuren

yea try the test when there is less traffic and see what you get then, also run that nitro test and see if you re transmit less packets then VanBuren
-
dern "There were 23 packets retransmitted" this value should give you less, but i take its kinda high traffic this time aday, and that can also impact you are much slower now, so lets try a larger DefaultReciveWindow, if you cant get speed with this, then its time to complain to your ISP change DefaultReciveWindow, from 384000 to 640000 now click save to registry and reboot, also reboot your modem for 30 seconds and your router VanBuren
-
no problem i like to help its always fun when it goes this well , there is so many factors that affect speed then just tweaks and i hope most ppl understand that VanBuren
-
this slow you down "There were 15 packets retransmitted" try this, open cablenut adjuster change DefaultReciveWindow from 512000 to 384000 and click save to registry and reboot do a new speedtest and that nitrotest and paste result VanBuren
-
thats basicly the same settings as my Cabletweak for 5000 384 you have changed DefaultReciveWindow it should be multiple with 1024, the rest looks good have you tryed the setting i have in my file? VanBuren
-
with the old tweak your receive buffer was (125.0 KB) , now it should be alot more
-
what speed do you get here http://speedtest.cogeco.net/ also run this again http://nitro.ucsc.edu/ and copy all text and paste it here VanBuren
-
nice speed 95% of cap upstream here is the post https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=1869.msg19560#msg19560 VanBuren
-
use the 2992 KB test both for upload and for download and lets see if it change VanBuren
-
the trace looks ok, nothing abnormal node 6 probl block ping, you can try a few times and see if you can get a ping from it VanBuren
-
hey meikeo and welcome to the forum do you have SP2 installed? -
try what monkhoous said about that network limit warning the settings are fine and speed is very good 99% of advertised what is your uploadspeed? VanBuren
-
hey again iloveny161 if you don't get 90% of 1500 Kbps on downloadtest try this.... download the file i attach and unzip it to C:ProgramCablenut open cablenut adjuster and click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry in top left corner you see file, click load custom settings, browse to C:ProgramCablenut dubbleclick on the file you unzipped click save to registry and reboot, also reboot your modem and router for 30 seconds make a new tweaktest and post result URL and also make new speedtest btw, did the problem with limited network disappear?
