Ok Van, a little insight, please......
VanBuren replied to Odysseus_____'s topic in Make it Faster...
heya Ody if you feel like finetuning TcpWindowsize you can use this calculator http://www.dslnuts.com/bitsbytes.shtml MSS 1380 Bandwidth in KB/s ( use 9999 ) cos 12500 wont fit hehe latency to your gateway during worst possible conditions, you can test this by downloading several files until all files togheter is the same as your cap, eg on a 10 mbps line, 3 diffrent downloads one running at 250 KB/s and the other 2 at 500KB/s each (it can be some problems maxing out a 100 Mbps connection) for my connection it works best with 52 ms, but for cable and dsl between 200 and 300 ms so you can test same value as i got 52 ms that give you a TcpWindowSize of 518880 thats also multiple with your MSS the DefaultReciveWindow should be 1024 x (your cap in KB/s ) to max out the connection, but i use a lower value then that i use 384000 and thats for a cap of 384000 / 1024 = 375 KB/s = 375 x 8 = 3 Mbps and thats around 1 / 3 of my total bandwidth so i would suggest the following settings DefaultReciveWindow = 12500 x 1024 = 12800000 / 3 = 4266666 DefaultSendWindow = 12500 x 1024 = 12800000 / 3 = 4266666 TcpWindowSize = 518880 GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize = 518880 Tcp1323Opts = 1 all other setting as the 100 Mbps file i send you good luck VanBuren -
I think its great, good overview good job VanBuren
-
no problem i think its looking good now, i think packets out of order is out of our control and no big deal, since you got the speed happy surfing VanBuren
-
its getting better, only 38 packets re trnsmitted compared to "There were 44 packets retransmitted" before try this file aswell, i changed the RWIN to 128480 VanBuren

uninstall that tweak from speedguide ( you can save it on your pc if you want to reinstall it ) reboot your pc download this attached file and unzip it to C:ProgramCablenut now open cablenut, in top left corner click file, click load custom settings file, browse to C:ProgramCablenut dubble click on 98 & ME Cable_DSL 3000+.ccs click save to registry and reboot your pc again that file has a RWIN of 256960 VanBuren
-
install cablenut, and open it, there you should be able to see what current settings you have https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1013.0;id=64 make a screenshot, or tell me what you see VanBuren
-
that was odd, the analyzer says your RWIN is quote "CurRwinRcvd: 513920" and your settings are HKLM,SystemCurrentControlSetServicesVxDMSTCP,DefaultRcvWindow,0,"256960" after you applyed that tweak, have you used any tweakprogram? VanBuren
-
you have a very large RWIN, do you use TCP Optimizer? if so, change from Extream to Cable and click optimized values and save + reboot VanBuren

Thats nice speed i think you had some problem with your ISP net or modem rather then cablenutsettings this is the speed you posted before you even tryed Cablenut https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=1550.msg15495#msg15495 quote "Here's my test results: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 319 Kbps about 0 Mbps (tested with 1013 KB) Download Speed is:: 39 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ [www.testmy.net] Bottom Line:: 6 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 26 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=5XYZRIMP3 [testmy.net] :::.. no problem i like to help and these days i got pretty much time in my hands, good luck z3phyr and tell your frineds about this site VanBuren
-
Well that indicates you connecting via another server, and your speed will be limited by the settings that server has i would leave my settings as default, as you have them now also call your ISP and ask if this is the speed they provide to you VanBuren
-
does anybody use direct connect file sharing
VanBuren replied to fapsux's topic in General Discussion
i use DC++ only, no ads, no spyware, fast speeds, most hubs also spot fakeshare so you dont have to download a whole movie and see that it was a fake. VanBuren -
yea thats right, strange thing is that it worked before we started to tweak.... cablenut do not modify any network adapters, it only modify the TCP settings that make me think it was just a coincidence, also when it says it can't renew the IP address, its probl a static IP but if internet work, dont worry and do like monkhoous says, it might be some sort of SP2 bug VanBuren
-
you have a 340 ms ping to testmy.net, i dont think you will go faster then this the settings monkhoous gave you increased your speed and should work very well, if you have been closer to testmy.net i bet you would reach your cap. VanBuren

Ok Van, a little insight, please......
VanBuren replied to Odysseus_____'s topic in Make it Faster...
dern, i think the TcpWindowsize and GlobalMaxTcpWindowsize was enough, cos i only use 64240 and pull 9.2 Mbps on a 150 ms ping however i might have set the DefaultReciveWindow and DefaultSendwindow abit high try both the 10 Mbps file and 50 Mbps file without any changes. i think that 10 Mbps would be able to pull those scores VanBuren -
hey mohdkiak and welcome to the forum do you have DSL or Cable? also follow these steps 3. What tweakprograms you already got installed, and run this test http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks copy and paste result URL adress in your post! 5. What speed do you have against www.testmy.net and http://nitro.ucsc.edu/ also make a tracert, go to start-run type command and hit enter, type tracert testmy.net and hit enter, right click copy all and paste it in your post. VanBuren replied to Odysseus_____'s topic in Make it Faster...
ok try these since i dont have that type of bandwidth at home i have not tested them hehe but the 10 Mbps file is what i use and get good speed good luck make sure everytime you load a new file to click save to registry and reboot VanBuren -
thats great, i need a job like that VanBuren

VanBuren replied to Odysseus_____'s topic in Make it Faster...
hey Odysseus_____ The transmit buffer (63.0 KByte) limits the application to 3.32 Mbps is actually the testservers RWIN i have a 384000 sendbuffer in DefaultSendwindow and also get a 63KB send buffer at that test, if i use another analyzer like http://nitro.ucsc.edu/ it says i have a 101 KB sendbuffer, and thats also wrong the only thing that can limit it, is the testservers RWIN btw i see you have a MSS of 1380 and thats very unusual, the fiberoptic cablenut files i have is made for a MSS of 1460, if you want i can make a cablenut file for you is your 100 Mbps connection dedicated, or should i optimize it for 50 Mbps? VanBuren -
 very nice try this aswell https://testmy.net/d_load.php?ni=1&tt=1&s=12160&st=st&ta=&top=&align=center& VanBuren

yea i was just a second faster then you VanBuren

hey buGz-buNNy and welcome to the forum thats a nice score what package are you on? and what is your upload? VanBuren

i am on BBB, that page i linked to has nothing to do with my connection i just wanted to show what a few tweaks can do that link show the worldrecord sunet and sprintlink has in transferspeed over a single TCP stream VanBuren
