  10. Then you used it wrong, Cablenut is not made for a specific connection type, the program just make a GUI of your registrykeys that handle TCP. The name of the site has nothing to do with the program I guarantee that all settings you add in cablenut adjuster will also edit your registry, but if you like to varify it, just make a change in cablenut and then do a search in registry for eg "GlobalMaxTCPWindoSize" and you will see what i mean... 11. hey cholla I see you like it the old-fashioned way to tweak nothing wrong with that, but, so much easyer to make these changes in cablenut and not in registry all these settings is also avalible in cablenut, but MTU..... Path MTU detection is enabled by default so you wont need to change it, unless you get a MTU of 576 with dial-up and here is the definitions for each setting http://www.dslnuts.com/9xme.shtml VanBuren

  16. hey kano and welcome to the forum yea very good tips ! But the last thing he want is to mix diffrent tweak programs, that can mess things up even more..... Cablenut offer the most powerful tweaking, also you dont need to backup any register like other crap programs on the net the only thing you need to do with cablenut is to click "delete cablenut tweaks" and click save to registry, then your windows Default values will be loaded. Infact you can use cablenut to clean up what other program leaves behind VanBuren
  17. also run this test and copy result URL adress and paste it here http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks VanBuren
  18. yea you should run 100 Mbps full unless you are on LAN connecting to a 10 Mbps Switch like me on cable and dsl you should compare speed by using 100 Mbps halfduplex on the WAN port to your modem and using 100 full, if your using a router .... and then use the setting that work best. cable is half duplex and dsl is ISP depending. if you dont have a router, and connect to a modem, then you need to know this, comparing speed between 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps on a NIC with XP/2k you need to change TcpWindowSize so you have the same each test. Win XP/2k change your TcpWindowSize depending on what speed you running at your NIC 100 Mbps on NIC give me a TcpWindowsize of 64240 10 Mbps on NIC give me a TcpWindowsize of 17520 VanBuren
