yea very good info netmasta this is something all ppl should do, set your NIC duplex mode manually, if i use "auto" i get conected at 100 Mbps halfduplex even tho the switch running 10 Mbps full duplex.... I tested 3 diffrent NIC

hey rAwr and welcome to the forum download cablenut 4.08 you find it here https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=1013.0 after you installed cablenut, unzip the attached Cable & DSL 3000 128.zip to C:ProgramCablenut now open cablenut adjuster, click delete cablenut tweaks + click save to registry, now all fields suppose to be blank now go to top left corner, click file, click open custom settings file and browse to this C:ProgramCablenutCable & DSL 3000 128 dubble click on Cable & DSL 3000 128.ccs click save to registry reboot your pc and shut off your modem and router for 30 seconds and do a new tweaktest and speedtest and post result good luck VanBuren

hey helloimtim and welcome to the forum My experiance is that you can tweak dsl on win XP, but its alot harder then Cable. The best thing is to see what speed you have over UDP protocol and if thats the same speed as your TCP speed there is nothing more to do But there is not much speedtests that run over UDP protocol, In Sweden we have a speedtest that you can choose ISP testserver and measure both TCP, UDP speed and fullduplex . That tool helps alot to find out if the tweaks will help or not. What you need to think of comparing UDP and TCP speed is that you have approx 10 % overhead in TCP, so the maximal speed for a dslmodem capped 8 Mbps is 7,2 Mbps over TCP. so if you ger a speed close to 90 % of your cap, dont tweak on dsl... Ive helped alot of ppl and i got to say, you need to test tweaks before you can say if they work or not, unless you have a speedtest over UDP to compare with. VanBuren

i thought RCN had 10 Mbps already, but i have not seen any uploadscores close to 800 yet EDIT: after checking the database i see a top upload of 745 Kbps and a average of rcn.com Upload Average = 446 Kbps :: 54 KB/s --- 145 records found (30 days of logs) VanBuren

yea try again, my cap is 10, so above that it must be cached somewhere EDIT: also, i have no file that big Connection is:: 16286 Kbps about 16.3 Mbps (tested with 40503 KB) VanBuren

heya Supreme lets start from scratch, and clean up so all settings you have is set to default download Dr.TCP http://www.dslreports.com/front/DRTCP021.exe open it and make sure all MTU fields is blanked out for all adapters then click apply now download cablenut 4.08 and vanburens_cablenut_settings_2versions.zip you find them here https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=1013.0 [testmy.net] after you installed cablenut, unzip vanburens_cablenut_settings_2versions.zip to C:ProgramCablenut now open cablenut adjuster, click delete cablenut tweaks + click save to registry, now all fields suppose to be blank reboot your pc and shut off your modem and router for 30 seconds and do a new tweaktest and speedtest and post result VanBuren

hey David use a larger test, 579 KB is not accurate at that speed try the 2992 KB test VanBuren
