  1. the first 2 hops is your private network, if you use a wireless router ping can be high like this to first hops. Last nite i helped a guy on www.fz.se he has vdsl 9/12 Mbps and was only getting 5 Mbps up and down in full duplex. So i asked him to make a traceroute to the testserver, it was over 60 ms, hes first hop was 32 ms i i remember it right. I told him to call hes isp and let them uninstall a stabilisation filter and after that he ping 1 ms to hes first hop and was getting 8.5 Mbps in full duplex. So it has a very big impact on result. 1st hop to me is the hop between your modem and your ISP, Private network dosent count. If you can, make a traceroute direct from your modem to mindspring.com also i heard that some routers is set to not priories ICMP traffic. VanBuren

  12. like i said before Hahn, MTU is set by your ISP, thats why i suggest to use MTU detection only when running the TCP analyzer.' When you know MSS (MSS=MTU-40) you can decide what RWIN you suppose to have. Cos RWIN has to be multiple with your MSS for a optimized packetusage. Unfortunely alot of ppl dosent follow the step in right order, also skip a few steps in my guide. Also mix TCP optimizer tweaks with Cablenut tweaks.... Alot of ppl with less MTU then 1500 use TCP optimizer, that force up your MTU to 1500. That only give fragmated packages and problems like above. Also some routers set your MTU lower then your ISP, in some cases you can increase MTU in router, If you cant, use the MTU your router use. VanBuren
  13. What settings? You cant tweak DW6000, atleast not much.... VanBuren
  14. I had same problem before, it was a damaged RAM stick unplug 1 each time and see if it works. VanBuren
  15. you cant tweak DW6000 system much http://www.broadbandreports.com/faq/8500 VanBuren
  16. you cant change it, it set by your ISP service. aslong as you have path MTU detection on you are fine. its enabled by defult in windows XP VanBuren
  17. Your high RWIN makes the browing slow, remember it dosent mean your connection is faster with that high RWIN even if speedtest shows that cos of burst. Follow my tweakguide again, this time try the Cable & DSL 2000 384 it has a lower RWIN, but it should speedup your browsing and to compare speed you need to use the 12 MB test. https://testmy.net/d_load.php?ni=1&tt=1&s=12160&st=st&ta=&top=&align=center& VanBuren
