this is what i found in that tweaktest RTT min: 163.7 ms RTT max: 969.7 ms RTT avg: 519.2 ms RTT stdev: 176.1 ms I dont think i can help fixing that, what you can do before you call your ISP is changing the LAN cables between router/modem and your PC, also check your phonewire, if you have a extension wire, i suggest to get rid of that and place your modem next to your main phone jack from that you can use a LAN cable to the PC since you have a combinated router/modem, you probl cant upgrade firmware but if you can, try that aswell when you fixed that loss, post again and i can help you tweak good luck VanBuren

due to traffic my speed usally is like this against testmy.net this time a day strange thing is that your servers is in same datacenter and see the diff in speed
-
some gateways block ping, i do not know if its just loss or if its blocked in your case try this ping -n 100 10.155.0.1 VanBuren
-
PM CA3LE and he can give you some TCP tweaks for Linux VanBuren
-
hey ShaneAu what OS are you running on your server? Servers TCP settings need to be tweaked aswell VanBuren
-
dern that router is messed up lol, it seem to drop small packets, so your speed is not affected much with larger packets try pinging nac.net with larger packets eg ping -l 1472 www.nac.net VanBuren
-
run this test again, http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks copy and paste result URL adress in your post also try bypassing your router, and use a LAN cable that you know is ok, between your modem and PC VanBuren

hey Zechtor no i dont work out in the field, never has i learned to tweak by pure curiosity, so ive been reading alot about this subject in other forums and sites. The best site, that cover most is www.dslnuts.com and https://www.speedguide.net/ these guys are awesome you seem to drop packets, so lets take your PC back to default settings and we will work from that download Dr.Tcp http://www.dslreports.com/front/DRTCP021.exe now open Dr.Tcp, make sure it look exactly like this attached picture, click save ( if you see values in any field, use delete key to erase them ) now open Cablenut, click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry set your NIC to 100 Mbps full duplex on your NIC when using the router, if your not using a router, set the duplex to 10 Mbps half here is a guide how to set duplex settings quote from http://dslnuts.com/tips_tricks.shtml "Windows 2000 or XP: to change to half-duplex: * Open Control Panel. * Double-click Network and Dial-up Connections. * Identify the icon for your cable modem connection: usually Local Area Connection. * Right-click that icon and select Properties. * Under the ethernet adapter icon, click the button Configure. * Click the tab Advanced to bring it to the front: * In the Property box, the property name to be selected varies according to model of ethernet card. Examples are: Network Link Selection, Media Type, Connection Type, Duplex Mode, or any similarly-named property which can have Values looking like Auto-Negotiation, or 10BT, or 10BaseT. * In the Value box, select a value which either (a) explicitly says half-duplex or semi-duplex, or ( at least does not say full-duplex [e.g. 10BaseT on its own is OK]. If there is a choice between 10 and 100 with half-duplex, choose the 10. Do not choose 10Base5, 10Base2, or AUI. * Click OK to exit the Adapter settings. * Click OK to exit the Connection properties." now reboot and make a new speedtest, use the 2992 KB test VanBuren

yea its kinda "emty" where i live, only 150 KM from arctic circle the University is approx 15 KM away from my home, the backbones here is very stable, i never see any slowdowns inside Sweden during hevy traffic, so my guess is that backbones is far away from beeing overloaded VanBuren

i assume you have cablenut, if not download it here https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1013.0;id=64 also download Dr.Tcp http://www.dslreports.com/front/DRTCP021.exe now open Dr.Tcp, make sure it look exactly like this attached picture, click save ( if you see values in any field, use delete key to erase them ) now open Cablenut, click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry set your NIC to 100 Mbps full duplex on your NIC when using the router here is a guide how to set duplex settings, ignore 10 Mbps half and use 100 Mbps full instead since your using a router quote from http://dslnuts.com/tips_tricks.shtml "Windows 2000 or XP: to change to half-duplex: * Open Control Panel. * Click OK to exit the Connection properties." now reboot and make a new speedtest against the servers above this will restore your TCP settings to default, it might be settings that dosent show up in analyzer thats wrong, so its easyer this way to eliminate that risk VanBuren
