There is alot of government issues when it comes to allowing ISP to offer a service.. Your town might have dark fiber in your area but you town government has yet to sign a contract with Verizon to allow them to service your area. The best bet would be to call Verizon.. if they say that they dont know find a someone in the local government that could find out the information for you..

I always reinstall the os as soon as i get a new computer.. to get rid of all the crap that you dont need.. I noticed that dell has moved to the system files on the hard drive and not on the cd.. Sorry about the slow respond.. i just didnt see this post!

so I figured out my memory problems.. 145mb for a creative performance analyser.. umm.. hell no.. that will not be starting anymore.. hmm.. computer is on for 3 days.. and it grows to 145mb!!!!!! when it starts it is only 2.5mb... bad drivers?? maybe..

It look good to me.. try booting into safe mode.. and running a scan.. that should clear up just about any spyware issues.. You have a fairly good antivirus, firewall, and spyware set up.. It might be just network traffic.. I Roadrunner might doing some maintainance on your node... Give it a few days and if it is still a problem.. then call your ISP... have they had you run a tracert to here?
