Wierd downloading/networking issue
Swimmer replied to dragonswrath's topic in Networking and Hardware
see if you can download via direct connect to the modem.. if that is the case then it is a router issue.. or a router setup issue.. Otherwise.. I am going to have to dawn the thinking cap on this one.. -
http://www.majorgeeks.com/Port_Explorer_d3948.html might want to check that one out..
-
a clean install of windows xp requires about 170mb of ram.. to boot.. That doesnt leave ya with a whole lot to play with.. unless you like hard drive caching..
-
no it will run... might not be at full resolution.. The graphic problems are related mostly to older or onboard solutions.. you should be alright..
-
Yeah.. i am wondering when that release is going to happen.. it has been almost a month since the first mention of 1.03..
-
not bad other than the fact that nothing is going to run on 256mb for windows xp... you are going to need more ram.. Other than that it is a great buy.. might be able to get a good oc out of it..
-
If you are looking for the ultimate.. you could go with a X2 processor from AMD.. it is their new dual core.. Other than that it looks alright to me.. graphics you are not going to see a huge jump between the 6600 and the 6800 sli.. or atleast not worth the extra money.. if you want to max that out you are looking at the new 7800 series..

lol 10...

Hmm that is to bad to hear.. you can try calling your ISP and see what they say.. http://ea.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=8961&p_created=1118858228&p_sid=57j35KQh&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MSZwX3Byb2RzPTcsMTAwMyZwX2NhdHM9NTY2LDcwNyZwX3B2PTIuMTAwMyZwX2N2PTIuNzA3JnBfc2VhcmNoX3R5cGU9YW5zd2Vycy5zZWFyY2hfbmwmcF9wYWdlPTEmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD1wb3J0cw**&p_li=&p_topview=1 that is what EA recommends..

yeah that is true.. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1840816,00.asp that is a good little article about vista beta 1.. the vista that some of the people are talking about it the new release from the Professional Developers Conference in Los Angeles... It is beta 1 with improvements..
-
that is correct.. the only legal way to get it is if you have a developer subscription with MS.

I have the same problem.. most of the time it is because the server list isnt update real time.. so the server is full when you think that it isnt.. I wouldnt worry about it to much.. The other reason could becasue the IP address can not found or the server is behind a firewall that blocks traffic.. I have ran into a few of these before.
-
As with any beta there are going to be some flaws.. The one that I saw alot was graphic drivers and sound driver not acting like they should.. I was however, not all that impressed with the beta.. Not much has physically changed. I mean a new GUI that is nice but it is not like they reinvented the start menu.. I am sure that the beta is on some torrent sites.. check those.

With the newer routers you dont have to worry about SYN attacks.. With SPI these attacks are useless.. http://www.netgear.com/products/details/WGT624.php http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=19 http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?childpagename=US%2FLayout&packedargs=c%3DL_Product_C2%26cid%3D1124916802645&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper The only real catch is that the router has to be newer..

Nope just tracert.. for some reason ping works fine.. but the firewall doesnt allow tracert through..here is why.. http://kb.trendmicro.com/solutions/search/main/search/solutionDetail.asp?solutionID=17334&q=tracert&qp=&qt=tracert&qs=&r=1&c=17334&sort=0

I you were behind a router then your computer should have been fine.. As long as your are not opening ports and your systems are clean the router will disregard any pings or packets from sources..
-
I know that pc cillin bocks the user from running tracert.. You have to disable the suite to beable to do one.. I am sure that there is a way to build a rule into the firewall that would allow it to happen..
-
To get your computers back.. boot save mode with networking, unplug the internet.. check the router logs to see if there was anything abnormal... Then begin the cleaning process.. Just make sure that when you are in safe mode with networking your internet is not running into the router..otherwise you are just asking for more problems.

Intel Pentium4 HT 3GHz Intel Graphics Media 900 512MB or 1GB of RAM 80GB HD DVD Burner 17" Flat Panel LCD Yeah i would look else where.. wait for some deals to come around.. the graphics are not that impressive.. If you are going to game at all.. you dont want the 900 series -
see i dont think they can see on the core routers of the internet.. I still think that the huricanes have something to do with it..
-
not worry about it. .it is all good.. Your not a low life.. Most people dont realize that the weather and other things affect the net.. They just assume that it can not be brought down. Well it can be.. dual posts merged..

It is going to be out of their control.. the entire internet in the us is kinda screwed up.. With 2 hurricanes hitting with in a month.. there is not all that much they can do..
