What brand and model? I would make sure that you dont have a 2.4ghz phone, microwave, or something else electronic around the router to begin with. With the information I might be able to help you a little bit more.

I would agree with resopalrabotnick.. running a cat5 to that computer might be the best thing to do.. The other thing that you can try is changing the channel on the router.. I have seen cases that it will say good connection but then drop about ever 3 min for about a sec or so.. I had this problem earlier at my dorm room.. Put my router on ch 11 and the problem was gone.. Download this http://www.netstumbler.com/downloads/ and see if there any any other network in the area.. That should help you when deciding on what channel you want.

I would recommend. if you want more storage and still good performance, the Maxor Diamondmax 10 series. http://www.devhardware.com/c/a/Storage-Devices/DiamondMax-10-What-does-16-MB-Cache-and-the-New-Native-Command-Queing-do/4/ http://www.gamepc.com/labs/view_content.asp?id=diamondmax10&page=1

LAPTOP fans - Are you eeady for a 20-inch laptop?
Swimmer replied to just-'s topic in General Discussion
hahaha... unless the resolution is going up.. i am not interested in a bigger screen.. 1680x1050 is good enough for me! -
All you need to do is download the latest drivers from Linksys.. and then you can used the windows zero config service.. If you have sp2 i would highly recommend it.. if not either get sp2 and download their utility for wifi

LAPTOP fans - Are you eeady for a 20-inch laptop?

I have a 15.4 widesceen.. and it is huge! I have seen the 17 inch versions of my computer and they look like skate boards.. they are so long and wide.. Both are wide screen versions.. There has got to be a point at which batter life comes a factor.. I mean it has got to take energy to power such a big screen. -
Sox up by one bottom of the 8th.. go sox!

Is 'Wi-Fi on steroids' really the next big thing?
Swimmer replied to jypagan's topic in General Discussion
This is already here! It is going to be the next big thing.. no questions asked. In the aftermath of Katrina and Rita.. Wifi network were deployed by the Army's core of engineers and by FEMA to create a temporary communications backbone. You already have Philly, San Fran, and other cities trying to place a cloud over their cities to provide access. -
hahaha... that is crazy for an apple that is going to be replace by the Intel dual core system in less than 3 years..

If you think it is a lemon.. then call them and tell them that you are tired of having to fight with them! You spend some $$ on a pos that doesnt work! If they have swapped mobos and everything else that you say they have done.. then they shouldnt have any problems getting you a new one! If you get some dip weed tech support dude from who knows were.. ask for the manager and explain the problem. Most of the time the dip weeds are trying to make it so that the company doesnt have to pay out of pocket for anything.. INCLUDING RETURNS! Do some research before you call.. and remain calm.. if they start giving you the run around then you can get a little more forceful..

run hijack this.. then paste the results into this website: http://hjt.iamnotageek.com/

Yeah.. as long as you are not in a problemed area.. you should be alright.. East coast and West coast are known to be bad areas... My guess is that you will not see that much of a difference between the upload speeds..
