  15. So I was cleaning out my computer area today and found some pretty cool stuff just sitting around... Check it out.. What I found in my desk A yes.. The original Pentium 133mhz! This was part of an old gateway P5-133.Dont ask about the "p5-133" naming standard The good old P2 slot processor... I have 2 of these... this is the 266mhz version and a 600mhz P3 I think.. The original Palm Pilot! Yea it does still work and I still have the dock See what you can find.. Believe me there is some pretty cool old stuff other there right now... I have more coming!
  16. Comcast has decided to go with the tier system to give customers who need the extra speed more options... Becided the 3 mb free upgrade with the 256kb upload there is now going to be a 4 mb package with 384kbs upload... The price is about $10 per month extra for the new package... Current areas who have this upgrade package available include... Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. However, all markets will have this available by September. Include with this anouncement was that the people over at comcast has increased the mailbox size from 10mb to 250mb... Which means that if you use all 7 email accounts you have a total storage size of 1.75 gigs... That is up from the 70mb... Hmm... lets hope that Comcast can keep setting the industry standard...
  17. The log viewer should be automatically on... It is a router...
  18. that is awesome! I wish fiber would be here sooner than later...
  19. Sorry about that... that was the config menu for the AP (access point) not the wireless router... The correct address is 192.168.1.1 Then just take a look around... you cant do any damage if you dont change anything...
  20. very nice!! none of your pics work.. my guess is that you went over you allowed bandwidth for the day on geocities...
  21. You should be able to connect via wireless... open IE and type 192.168.1.245 Then click the log tab on the top.. I am going off the tech support guide for the WAP54G.. It might be a little different for you... If the Log isnt turned on just turn it on and then check back in a little while... otherwise you can start looking at what your router has been doing for quite a while...
  22. you are going to have to find some one with an upload speed that is equal to greater to his download speed.... Which in his case is really unlikely..
  23. The log viewer is used to see who and what are connecting with your router... It is really useful if you think people are stealing your service.... What the log viewer will tell you is when people connected, when the dhcp is renewed and other stats that can be helpful to IT people.... The log runs with out a desktop running on the router... It is run by the internal processor on the router itself and it stored in the ram onboard...
  24. my guess is that those areas have really big backbones... and are already equiped with fiber optics some how...
