  1. I wish I was on Hughesnet right now. The reason I am not is because I am waiting for EVDO. If it wasn't for that though I would be on Hughesnet in a second.
  2. Lol same here. I will be 18 in November too.
  3. Not a bit. The pings are still bad on the completely unloaded WB-1 satellite. Which satellite provider are you going with?
  4. Don't remember if I posted mine or not, but Im 17.
  5. Sweet! I would love to see it.
  6. Pfft...Only about 4 and 2 thirds faster than my download.
  7. That's 18 and a half times faster than mine. I am guessing his pings don't average in the second and a half range either. You make me sad.
  8. I don't even wanna know how you know how good shug is.....
  9. Does your DVD recorder not have a video delay though? I know mine does. Although maybe they are not all like that?
  10. So was it good porn or crappy porn? I am an FBI(Female Boob Inspector) agent. Although I tend to avoid Shug's in fear of my computer committing suicide.
  11. You are going to have a difficult time finding something that can record it without a video delay. Which with the video delay it would be unplayable...I guess if you could find something to split the cable so that you have 2 different connectors(one for TV, one for recorder), then you could just use a DVD recorder, or a capture card.
  12. I could not agree with you more.......................You are getting gayer by the moment.
  13. :shock:Shug you CAN NOT have a discussion without name calling!!!! Hurry up and call him a retard or something before you lose your dignity!!!! lol jk Lol your my kind of guy Shug. Some people don't understand that you can disagree with them and you don't haft to get your panties in a wad about it. For example I disagree on HD-DVD being a dieing format. But I am not "angry" with you for disagreeing. Also you have some good points and I even learned some stuff about Blu-Ray from your discussion. I also realize that I could easily be wrong about HD-DVD. IMO it could go either way at this point. For example I think that HD-DVD could really hurt Blu-Ray if they get this rumored $200 HD-DVD player out. O yah...Shug rides da short bus dur dur dur.
  14. Call of Duty 3 should play just fine with Hughes. I used to play it on my Wildblue connection until they made the pings horrible.(average anywhere from 1300-1700+) I also hear that Lost Planet works, but I have not tried it myself. I made a list a while back on what worked and didn't work on Wildblue(before it got bad). Although Hughes pings are not quite as good as Wildblue was when I ran this test, some of the games that worked on Wildblue should work on Hughes. http://www.wildblue.cc/wbforums/showthread.php?t=1927
  15. Xbox 360...Why? Because they have a much larger game library and their games are of much better quality than any of the competition. Also the Xbox 360 will be closely tied to Windows Vista. Then you have the far superior Xbox Live. The controller feels the best. If you want HD movies you can just get the HD-DVD add on. Also on the Xbox 360 you can rent movies over the internet and then come about fall you will be able to use it for an IPTV set-top box. But the main reason for going 360 is the GAMES!!! The games are absolutely the best hands down, no questions asked. Although Xbox Live is another large factor. If you are looking for online gaming, then there is simply nothing better to have than Xbox Live. Also the comment on HD-DVD quickly dieing is off. HD-DVD is FAR from dieing.
  16. When I see you I get lots of pop-ups. I want to upload my software to you.
  17. Granted I have only been running it since Monday, but so far for me Vista has been rock solid.
  18. Can't wait till my copy gets here tomorrow. I thought about going for Ultimate, but I couldn't really find anything that it came with that I really needed. Mainly because my HD could get nuked today and I wouldn't really lose anything important. Considering that is the main upgrade with Ultimate is protecting your data there really was no motive for me to get it.
  19. Yah you can consider that Hard Drive dead...If you need the data off of it, like said above you will haft to have a professional.
  20. Welcome to the forums zeddlar. Any and ALL information is always welcome. From what I can see it looks like Hughesnet's pings have improved quite a bit over the past year. Now if they could just straighten out those nasty peak time slowdowns.
  21. Lol well I am going to jump on the Vista train mainly because I just like trying out new stuff. I ran the Betas and the RCs and really like it other than it needed a little polishing here and there(nothing major). Anyway my copy is shipping today so I guess I will see how it goes. I never ran RC2 so I will see how much the polished from RC1.
  22. Even with 3 users it would still not be slower than sat. If you don't believe me go to wildblue.cc or evdoforums.com and ask the former sat folks. Also the download on the Sprint $60 is much faster than the download on the Hughesnet $60 plan. The 800k she was getting is actually much slower than the average Sprint customer. Pretty muchly every one I see is 1.2Mbps. Also you don't haft to be under the tower to get pings better than 200ms. Not sure where you pulled those numbers, but they are wrong. All you need is a good signal and it can get DSL latency. A good signal can be acquired with the proper equipment(usually just an external antenna). I am the one that said gaming "was" doable on WB. But it is not anymore. Plus it is "doable", that doesn't mean that it is great. It will NEVER be as good as EVDO.
  23. What makes you think that sharing an EVDO connection would be any slower than sharing a sat connection with 3 users? You can spend $60 a month for 3 users and get better service than what you are getting with sat. Can you run a server on sat.?...or is that against policy The point I am trying to make here is EVDO is the better option no matter what the case. If you have a good EVDO signal it is always going to be better than sat. Also you spin the whole if I go mobile then the house has no internet. So leave the card in there!!! It is not look you are losing functionality by it. Not unless you take that dish with you(doubt it).
  24. Jeffwalker just got through showing you that it can do just as good as DSL if the signal is good. Pinging testmy.net [67.18.179.85] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 67.18.179.85: bytes=32 time=42ms TTL=54 Reply from 67.18.179.85: bytes=32 time=39ms TTL=54 Reply from 67.18.179.85: bytes=32 time=39ms TTL=54 Reply from 67.18.179.85: bytes=32 time=39ms TTL=54 Ping statistics for 67.18.179.85: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 39ms, Maximum = 42ms, Average = 39ms I have seen many DSL accounts that could not even get latency like that. Also you keep saying well you could have a business Hughesnet account for that price. Can you take your Hughesnet with you wherever you go? Can you play online games with your Hughesnet? Can you use VOIP with your Hughesnet? Can you download all you want with your Hughesnet? Can you browse secure sites quickly and easily with your Hughesnet? NO...Also you don't haft to pay $55-70 a month per user. You can simply get an EVDO router and share it just like you share your satellite connection. The only reason unity got a card per user is because she needed to take her cards with her.
