Well, You could always try tweaking further with cablenut, but to be honest i doubt it'll help. Reason being is because wireless, and usb alone are 2 separate speed reducers. Togeather... well you see the results. wireless is a 'gimme' because it has to travel to and from " wireless ". USB itself isn't good for broadband because it cant handle the amount of data as quickly as a NIC ( network interace card) card can. I personally just ran 150 ft ( 25 cents a foot ) of CAT5 ethernet cable from the router on 1 end of the house to my room, to eliminate the wireless all-togeather. ~ if you dont use a dialup modem, remove it and put your NIC card in there. What wattage is your power supply?

The difference is in the upload test sizes between the 2 sites. The results on Testmy are going to be more accurate if you choose a larger file, the larger your upload. On DirecWay, the 500 kb test is more then enough, on SE the upload tests are rather small , but most of the time, but do the trick. Also, wdc is going to be closer to you then testmy is... testmy is in texas, wdc is obviously in washington. That test wasnt as accurate as testmy either * see attachment * But ca3le, i agree your testing methods are better, but one thing i think we could improve, mabey even be inspired by from this site suggested is its ability to choose the server we want to test from, and have it done on the same page. Because right now, think about it. You want to test on the members only server. You ALSO want to use the 3 meg test for upload. First you have to click download test. Then you must click members only. Then you click upload. Then you click the size. Then it transfers. Then it quaries the results. Then it transfers once more to give results. This process to me, seems lengthy and server intensive. If we could somehow... somehow on the same page Have the main server , then the members only server, then a mirrors link which Dropped down and gave a list of the servers , and then you chose your server. Like that site, you click the server you desire, ~ it tests in that window using our same bar as now. If you are too fast, the bar refreshes, and starts the test with a larger file just the same as is done now. yea for some it did do that. Had the same effect on me when going from xp pro to xp home. But your speeds still arent bad.

THe member thingy is realy off anyway. Because of the "banned" and "removed" members , they may be # 8000 , but their realy 8003 or 8002 , etc.

Same thing happened to me. The wiring is not going to be your problem ( methinks) Try replacing the NIC card itself. It may be, if not defiantly fried.

Testmy already uses very close, if not dangerously close to its 2 TB monthly bandwidth as as. WIth streaming radio it'll be surpassed in a week.

Try enabling dmz host. And make sure your giving the other folks the right ip address and not the router ip. ( common mistake, you'd be supprised )

That google site uses 4 different servers ( 5 including the actual site) to install porn toolbars, 3 trojins and some weird popup program that advertises shit , which directly links to that site, thus giving them money. Thank god for Mozilla security eh?
