First off welcome to the forum... Have you tweaked your connection at all to get clowser to your advertised speed? You can have the 192.168.1.1 again, you just need to change your routers Local IP Address from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1 it is probally under advaiance in the routers control panel.

jjpk welcome to the forum. Its kinda stupid why AT&T/SBC do that. Bellsouth doesnt do any of that. and I get my Max with no problem.
