Still not a factor really. The internet line between the United States and Great Britan/the rest of Europe is the Tat-14. (Transatlantic telecommunications cable system.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TAT-14 1.87Tb/s Speed. Thanks, EBrown

I already have a legitimate copy of Windows Server 2008 (Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter Editions) from my High School. (Computer Networking and Repair through Cisco, so we get those cool toys, and our school is registered through MSDNAA.) I have been doing a few experiments with it, just to see what does what, etc. But I am sort of lost. Our class doesn't delve into the Server world, we stick more to networking and managed IOS switches, routers, etc. However, that link could be useful as we don't have R2. Thanks, EBrown

Does anyone know of any good online resources to get Microsoft Server training? (I.e. Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2) I want to try and get any of their certifications that I can. Thanks, EBrown

Yeah, I talked to my Laboratory Instructor today and he said he has the resistors I need. (Shift Resistors) Me and the other guy on the project went through a discussion today to determine exactly what we wanted to construct for it, so I may not need the steel anymore. I will still need the PlexiGlass, as well as the other miscellaneous electronics items, which I can (most) likely get from my Lab Instructor. Thanks, EBrown

Update: I have found a program that does most of what I want. In light of that, I have designed the electrical part of my setup, and if there are any Electronic Logic Experts here that would like to comment on it, I will gladly discuss it with you in either PM or here. I have also found a location where I can (most) likely order all of the parts I need, all my Diodes, Transistors, Capacitors and LED's. I also need some Register's but I have no idea where to get those yet. The next thing I will need is a Clipper (To take a 80-100V AC signal and convert that to a DC pulse) so that I can build the clock. It will also need another register, unless someone knows where I can get a 6-10Hz clock for fairly cheap. Thanks, EBrown

This makes me entirely regret my generation. Thanks, EBrown

So I am required by my Vocational School to do a Senior Project next year, and I was wondering if some of you could offer me some assistance. I can't describe my intent in detail, but I need a few things. 1. An Engineering Program (To allow me to virtually create and emulate water, as well as electronic and physical devices. I need to be able to build a motor in it as well.) 2. An Electronic Engineering Program (I am building a little LED setup that I need to control with a circuit board, and I have no software to simulate this accurately. It only needs basic logic gate functions, AND, OR, NOR, NOT, XOR, NAND, XNOR, etc.) 3. A cheap supplier of steel. 4. A cheap supplier of PlexiGlass. If anyone knows of any resources that would help me, that would be extremely awesome! I will give you a virtual cookie! Thanks, EBrown

Sorry I missed it man. But happy belated birthday none-the-less. Thanks, EBrown

Damon, they are just grouping symbols. You can use {} [] or (). Also, your mathfail as Tdawn said. Here's a thought: 2(14-13) = 2. True story bro. (And it's harder for bots to recognize the multiplication due to no * symbol.) Or: 2 x (14-13) Thanks, EBrown

So far I love this one. It's running EXTREMELY well for what it was supposed to cost. By that you mean the charge-drain-repeat cycle? Thanks, EBrown

It's actually a VERY good laptop. I am not going to lie. I got my Visual Studio 2010, and IIS7.5 setup on it and it runs perfect, no problems at all. Toshiba is a very good idea for the laptop market. The only thing I think could have been done better is the FN keys, I think some of them could have been built into the hardware or bios rather than OS, would make them much faster. Other than that the thing is a beast. I'll post a few pics later. (Although you can just google stock ones.) Thanks, EBrown

Well, Walmart had a Toshiba on sale. It's a Satellite L675D, has an AMD Turion II Dual Core at 2.4Ghz, 4 GB of RAM, 320 GB Hard Drive, Blu-Ray Drive, 17" 1600x900 Display, ATI Mobility Radeon 4200 Series, and they had it on clearance for $598. I got $200 off of that because it was an overstock type deal. I can't complain. This topic can be locked or w/e if a mod wants. Thanks, EBrown

The only problem with that one is that the screen is kind of small. I need something like a 17" screen... Thanks, EBrown

I am buying a new laptop soon, and I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I need to be able to run Visual Studio 2010 Pro, as well as IIS 7.0. I have a budget of approximately $550+- a few bucks. Are there any recommendations anyone can make? I want to go with a Dual-Core or more with at least 4GB RAM. Any help is appreciated. (I am not exactly a shopper, I tend to build what I need, but with a laptop that is difficult.) Thanks, EBrown

Would be, if I got paid. Thanks, EBrown

I have the same freaking issue. I made two partitions initially, I should have done 10 100GB partitions instead of a 250 and a 690 ish. Thanks, EBrown
-
Yeah, I should reformat the entire thing. Only problem is that it is the only drive in the house that big, and I need about 300 GB to back up everything on it. >.< I guess I'll buy a new one, do it right, and then reformat my old one. I MIGHT be able to squeeze a little bit more speed out of it. Somehow. I am going to see what I can do tonight, if anything. Thanks, EBrown

Right. I'll get right on that. With my net worth of $55 USD. I need a damn job before I can do anymore upgrades. Lol Thanks, EBrown

I just re-partitioned it so that I have a 130~GB partition for the OS (I shrunk it, but I couldn't go any further because of unmovable files), a 349~GB partition for extra storage (Same thing as above, I shrunk it), and the leftover 452~GB partition. Windows 7 defrags the drive for me every night at 1AM, but I'll look into the program you mentioned. Thanks, EBrown

So my 1TB Western Digital Hard Drive is being pretty slow, as of late. Does anyone have anything (tips or whatever) that will help me speed it up? (It's a standard Hard Drive, not an SSD) I use Windows 7 Pro x64 if you need to know that. Thanks, EBrown

I only have an Athlon II x2, it's not extremely great. (With my OC it's not bad, but I need more cores. Black Ops lags on this PC.) I also use SpeedFan, usually when I want to make my two 120's run super quiet. (I'll tune them down to 20% or so. So they keep airflow, but don't make noise.) Thanks, EBrown

Very nice TriRan. I need to make some money so I can upgrade to more HDD, a better internet, and a Phenom II X6. Thanks, EBrown

I play Medal of Honor or Bad Company 2 or Black Ops for 45 minutes to see if it's stable. Thanks, EBrown
