I'm on it. Hold on,,,,,,,BTW the Ntbtlog is huge Lots of redundancy. There is redbook entry that shows as "loaded". If you want I'll post it(might have to donate more $ to these guys for the Xtra space) :haha: I'll edit this in a few

Hey Dude :D I think I may have something here I just now noticed that in my system event log that EVERYTIME the error is logged the VERY NEXT entry is.(redbook).....I will post it here. I mean every time. The only security failures are the IpSec thing( I was wrong last night, this entry was random, not at final shutdown) I think I posted it before but it has not come back at all since Sat night at 7:39 PM. And not once yesterday since I did the "fix" I haven't even checked the ntlog, will do that next. I am sooooo tired I'm seeing double. I'm not usually very functional after lying awake till after 1:30 AM listening to the TET offensive out in the street :!:

I've only used my floppy once the other day when I copied the lsass file from my kitchen puter onto floppy and then plugged in my usb floppy drive into this puter. I didn't paste file over my existing file so I just unplugged floppy from this puter. The whole time this was going on this machine was on.

Hey cak46. Well, the mouse is back to it's old self again :? After 2 re-boots. Up until today, the error was coming up after all desktop and tasktray items were loaded. NOW since the "fix" it pops up during the "welcome to windows" screen :!: BEFORE any desktop screen at all  Also, I have never set anything in power management, but the screen does go to sleep after about 30 minutes of idle time(just move mouse and it wakes up) Next time I boot I'll check into it and fix that if I can. Oh and I recently installed a brand new dvd rom;/burner combo before this happened on 5-28. No floppy drive in my puter at all. I use a usb external floppy.

The very first time it popped up, the puter had been on for quite awhile. Then all times after that it comes up after desktop is up and running, it takes a few minutes and then it pops up. Now today was the first time it popped up during this "fix" before actually getting into windows(I don't think I was in windows, anyhow-no desktop). I haven't re-booted since it was all done so I will do so now and see what happens

Hi Cholla Most of the help that I get from MS lately has been people from Asian decent, and I think maybe that they're still learning basic grammer, cause every one of them that I have worked with have done the same thing Edit: Actually it's worse than that. "two many issues in the same time" should be "at" the same time.

India :haha: :haha: Gee let me think about that. he he. Well they might be cause it's not a holiday for them :!: Ya I agree if the upgrade didn't fix it then why would this, but then this is supposed to a repair. Definetly worth a try BTW you can re-activate on-line in about 5 seconds-piece of cake. I did it that way the last few times

Check this out. rpcss is the same as remote procedure call: I'd better leave it alone http://www.theeldergeek.com/remote_procedure_call_(rpc).htm http://www.theeldergeek.com/remote_procedure_call_(rpc)_locator.htm It seems maybe that rpcSs has replaced the other two listings because I now have the latest version of sp2. The kitchen puter still has the other two listings and as you can see, according to these links, they appear to be the same thing

Sorry it didn't work for MS help. I noticed that it(the fix) looked like it was for the MS windows online update. Well they have a new way of doing things and I can't get it to work!! They tell you that you have to have "userdata persistence" enabled in your security section of your internet options folder under custom settings. Well mine already is enabled but their site won't recognize that so I can't look for or get any of the latest updates  I did also check system info and still no luck/or network connections. I will be checking out that site more often thought, it looks cool
