  1. Sorry to disappoint ya'll, Comcast's "theoretical speed burst" doesn't work as it sounds. According to comcast, the bursted speeds should apply to even a 600+ MB game being downloaded... But in reality, I've tried downloading several "large" files: BF2Patch 1.03 Nero Burning ROM 7.2.0.3b Optimum Online's 64 MB FTP test file And the result is... around 30 MB completion, the speed drops very low... Looks like Comcast did not provide what they were claiming... Here, I highlighted their claim, and also added comments on how they did NOT achieve what they were imagining (to beat FiOS).
  2. Looks good. Did you tweak yet? With VanBurn's 10 Mbps tweak (version 9), you can get that speed test up to 24 Mbps. You also have to realize that you will not reach that speed in "real-world".
  3. Yes, that is also what Comcast stated in their FAQ. Those with the old modem models, need to get the new model. It may very well be your modem limiting your bandwidth.

  5. Hmm... after going to an RWIN of 128480, it seems that my speed is now stable, instead of jumping around and stuttering (with VanBurn's 10 Mbps tweak). I'll try 256960 next...

  9. Looks like the speed isn't a fluke http://jdl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=10549 ^the "test link"
  10. Was $34.95/month, and the state of PA. Now all Comcast has to do is give the upload a jump (say, triple it?)
  11. Comcast Cable, yeah. I'm on their cheapest package...

I'm happy now.
  17. Yes I know, it averages all of the results in the "comcast.net" domain. I'm just saying Comcast needs to give a boost to the upload as well (they haven't since the 3 to 4 Mbps upgrade). I've also stated that I'm still awaiting the doubled download speed "powerboost" upgrade. I may not be in New England, but I'm only 300 miles or so away from Philadelphia.

  19. That is totally opinionated Anyway, get the 7900GT, and then voltmod it, so you can easily destory a 7900GTX . I suggest you get the Zalman VF-900 for it too... Make sure you have heatsinks on the card's RAM.
