Barebone System

Recommended Posts

I was searching on tiger direct and i found this Barebone system

What is your opinion in this barebone system and i really never have heard of that mobo, what is your opinion, also what is a mgp slot? supposevely it is supposed to be compatble with agp gfx cards but there is a pci-e slot aswell.  Also what is the point of a barebone system, wat is the difference between buying the parts seperately or in a "barebone kit"?

barebone system is pretty much a bundle of lets say a case/motherboard/cpu and maybe even ram - its supposed to save you some money by buying components in a bundle - barebone systems usually arent all that great, but they are good enough for surfing the web and simple tasks

depends on the manufacture.. However, about 99% of them come in parts..

Putting together a computer is not difficult! just takes some time and if you are new to it about 30 minutes of reading.

tigerdirect is working for me..

amc what you got there isnt the best stuff but its noware near the worst. espically for the price considering the processor alone on newegg costs $122.99.

Nothing will be assembled, it says it in there at the bottom.

I would say go for, all you need is memory and a video card, you can use the hard drive out of your current system.

It's actually $109.00.

What's your pricerange?  And what exactly do you want?  An entire new system?  If you give us that, we can find some good deals for you.

Never skimp on the motherboard and PSU, those are some of the most important components in a computer.

You think they're actually going to have the more expensive revision in their cheapo barebones?

Actually, we're both wrong.  It's a Clawhammer core, not even a Venice.

if you read that its a 1 day sale. so the actual price of the processor all the time is 122.99

Price range is around 250 (give or take) Would like amd.  Will be getting in about a month or so possibly so rebates that expire before then will be worthless

Can anyone suggest a atx mid-tower case for under 50 dollars with good airflow

I'm not a big fan of Thermaltake, but this is one of their basic cases, which is good, and it has good airflow:

Umm, no, that's a different CPU.  Look at the model number and the voltage spec.  They''ve had the two different listings for a long time.

I have a question for you guys: should i purchase a pci-e motherboard and have to spend the extra money to get a new gfx card? or should i purchase a agp mobo and not have to use buy a new gfx card(i have a 6600gt)  Is agp gonna phase out?  Also do you guys have any good mobo recommendations?  I have seen a lot of mobos that have both agp and pci-e.

I have looked at these: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1559983&CatId=0
