dn0 Posted July 30, 2006 CID Share Posted July 30, 2006 Does anyone know how to disable "cleartype" in Outlook Express? I am with you on that Cleartype crud, MS can keep that for themselves, it gives me a headache. Let me look around..............
dn0 Posted July 30, 2006 CID Share Posted July 30, 2006 What version of Outlook Express do you have? I have 6.0 and I don't see any setting. Maybe it's tied to IE, are you seeing the Cleartype font when using Internet Explorer?
TheHalf Posted July 30, 2006 CID Share Posted July 30, 2006 If your using IE 7 I can help you there, unfortunately I do not use Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook, look below. TheHalf

IE7 enables 'clear type'. If you don't like it, turn it off via Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, Multimedia tab. php Posted July 30, 2006 CID Share Posted July 30, 2006 cleartype actually helped me It can be rather irritating with a CRT monitor though... some of my monitors show cleartype text with odd colored pixels around it.
TheHalf Posted July 30, 2006 CID Share Posted July 30, 2006 I did a quick search fikester and the registry key to remove as typed by Shug is close. First go to your start menu to run and type in regedit then OK. Now look at the image below to navigate to alter the setting.
