tommie gorman Posted August 13, 2006 CID Share Posted August 13, 2006 OK what is so funny should I should I not believe the settings you have are right or are you just kidding you two. :::.. Download Stats ..::: Download Connection is:: 1719 Kbps about 1.72 Mbps (tested with 3151 kB) My apologies davidrose9, if it appeared that way. No the speeds are real Burst speeds. They are common for satelite. They are also good for page loading and surfing and such. But they only last a little while for actual file downloading. Anything larger than larger than 5MB on a file and I can guarantee you I will be D/Ling at 1030kbps. So it has started a few discussions about it. But the settings are real, and many here have used them and liked them. Or I would not have posted them. I just laughed to detour from flaming. Sorry again. And it sometimes it takes 3 days for those settings to fully set in your comp. I hope you enjoy them. I mainly surf so it works well for me. Here is an average one I did last night, I only get these speeds at night. :::.. Bird Fan Posted August 13, 2006 Author CID Share Posted August 13, 2006 They are also good for page loading and surfing and such. Only if we didn't have the lag..
tommie gorman Posted August 13, 2006 CID Share Posted August 13, 2006 Yeah, lag, fap, storms, modem restarts, repointing, etc... But seldom do we hear someone going back to dial up.
Bird Fan Posted August 13, 2006 Author CID Share Posted August 13, 2006 Yeah, lag, fap, storms, modem restarts, repointing, etc... But seldom do we hear someone going back to dial up. Because of the $300 cancellation fee..
tommie gorman Posted August 13, 2006 CID Share Posted August 13, 2006 I am going to try the 4000 in a few weeks, but most people still use Dway after their contract is up. Since it is the only available speed besides dial-up. And like me have become accustomed to it.

php Posted August 14, 2006 CID Share Posted August 14, 2006 Yeah... they were going to completely cut off the Direcway email too... but all they did is remove the spam and virus protection. Maybe the SMTP server too.

davidrose9 Posted August 16, 2006 CID Share Posted August 16, 2006 WOW got everything situated as for now any how my speeds are up to 600 700 downloading files now that I upgraded to Proplus 1500 and they have stayed that consistant all day from 1pm to 430pm longest ever so far so great relief. A higher Fap number not sure what it mean yet. But I need to be careful I suppose not exceed some guideline ProPlus HN7000s 400 Download Threshold 56 Recovery Rate
tommie gorman Posted August 17, 2006 CID Share Posted August 17, 2006 A higher Fap number not sure what it mean yet. That means you are allowed to D/L more material, with out being penalized with Fair Acces Policy. Which means you would be slowed down after a certain amount of D/L material. Lets say it another way. Dway only has so much bandwidth to use, and if you use over your alotted amount, they slow you down to dail-up speeds until after an alotted amount of time. So your alottment went up when you changed packages. Even though the ones that not use it up, do not get a refund. So go figure. I never use mine up or get fapped. I think I should be able to get something for it, or at least be able to build up points or something. I hope that explained it enough. Welcome to the world of satelite.
