Haven't you noticed everytime you call tech support that is one of the first things they have you do? So I asked that very same question over a year ago, and they said I shut my comp and modem down everynight.

DW7000's may be at that point too, I've not checked on that in a few months but the HN7000S is ongoing and it is best not to shut downunless your away from home (trip) i would for home safety, a reboot, OK .I'm not a Hughes tech but just an accumulation of what I have read. upsurfer Posted February 21, 2007 CID Share Posted February 21, 2007 You seem to have a problem here. More information is needed about your HN7000S system, longitude, receive frequency, ACP and Signal Strength. Longitude: 117 West Receive Frequency: 1070 MHz Signal Strength: 77 I don't know about ACP, but my signal strength when I had my 6000 was 94. The dish was not touched, but I only installed the 7000s modem and the signal dropped to 77. Even the customer service person was wowed by the signal strength of 94. He could not explain the drop after the 7000s was installed. He said it must be the weather. I also constantly get "web acceleration status error", and the system in DEGRADED. It happened twice while I typed this message. Any direction would be appreciated. thanks

By changing the modem made a change in your system. Was there a transponder change? I would say that high with the 6000 meant it was right on the money, next to perfect. I jumped a few points going from a 4000 to a DW7000 but got to 83 RSL X 83 ACP with some dish tweaking. Took me over an hour to do so. You can have a good signal but a poor ACP which would cause some problems. Let's continue, check that link, there are many things to learn here. I forgot to ask, did you get a new power supply? That can cause problems that can't be explained, using an old supply.

LeftFutBrakin Posted February 21, 2007 CID Share Posted February 21, 2007 Thx... im using SafeSquid Proxy on a Linux Box for the clients. Still Not Satisfied Though...  intentions I want steady streaming on a few of them so I'm thinking i use bandwidth limits on most of the proxy clients coz whenever they browse while streaming is on it starts buffering. I HATE THAT!! I'm new to SafeSquid, might start a Q&A thread and see if there are any users here. So its cool to restart my DW7000 like every 24hrs : I distinctly remember reading somewhere that i shouldn't do that. Let me look up that link. Do you want to save power? If you need to, then go ahead, if you don't then I don't see the probably with keeping it on. Computers don't need to be restarted and neither does your modem unless you're having major problems. Lots of times, my modem just restarts itself after about a week. Of course a good long power cycle is good for it, but you really don't need to do it daily.
