mummer43 Posted September 25, 2006 CID Share Posted September 25, 2006 Is there a product that can wirelessly transmit a tv cable signal?
tommie gorman Posted September 25, 2006 CID Share Posted September 25, 2006 Do you mean a wireless router for the TV to put it in other rooms of the house? ?
mummer43 Posted September 25, 2006 Author CID Share Posted September 25, 2006 Yeah. I have a tv card in my computer, but no cable nearby. I am looking for a solution that would enable me to use it without running wires.

ispgeek Posted October 3, 2006 CID Share Posted October 3, 2006 Sorry...there is no such monster with one exception. You can get a wireless video sender such as the one I posted below. Hook it to your cablebox and that would allow you to watch whatever your cable box is currently tuned to. You could then use a video blaster and control your cable box from any room in the hse...this is an expensive solution to a problem that would be easily solved by installing a cable outlet next to your computer. http://www.amazon.com/VS6438-4-channel-Wireless-Sender-Extender/dp/B00077GE7Y
tommie gorman Posted October 3, 2006 CID Share Posted October 3, 2006 $73.58 is not all that bad, depending on the reason for it. If it was in someone else's house I could understand it. Say visiting and such. Or maybe temporary and mobile. There could be several reason's for this to not be a bad price. The price would not scare me off. I have relatives this way, my stepfather to be exact. Long story. But it would be required there.
just- Posted October 3, 2006 CID Share Posted October 3, 2006 one thing u need to keep in mind i am not sure but look into it, is that u might only be able to watch one channel at a time, on both places in the uk they have cable boxes as in a set top box they are called so that u can only have one channel at a time on the house even if u use that extension technique

tommie gorman Posted October 4, 2006 CID Share Posted October 4, 2006 Maybe I was a bit hasty. That is too much, and pretty much useless as far as I know. $80, just run cable and do a pretty job. Just my thoughts.
dlewis23 Posted October 4, 2006 CID Share Posted October 4, 2006 there is nothing yet that will really do this. even if you could the quality is going to be pertty bad.Your best bet is to just run a cable.
netmasta Posted October 4, 2006 CID Share Posted October 4, 2006 You are right...only one channel at a time with the wireless extenders... At least you can change the channel through the extender, rather than going all the way to the other tv. there is nothing yet that will really do this. even if you could the quality is going to be pertty bad.Your best bet is to just run a cable. True. I've run cable before. It's not that hard. Actually it's very easy, with the exception of putting the connectors on the end of the cable. Btw, the topic starter hasn't been here since 9/25.
